Dear my fashionistas, welcome to another October fashion adventure on the Mr.M blog! I hope that these unusual low temperatures, as well as this gloomy and rainy weather did not spoil your mood. Today we will get into the fashion time machine together and discover one of the unusual fashion pieces made by my favorite British fashion house Burberry.
Burberry is one of the most famous traditional British fashion houses that has patented its famous trenches and coats which are also a trademark of this fashion empire. I believe that everyone who has been following my blog for almost 6 years, knows my enthusiasm for this exceptional brand.
There is one interesting fact about big fashion houses that many people do not know or sometimes forget. All creations that marked the collection of a certain year and season are kept in the company’s archives. Because of my job, I had the opportunity to peek into the archival collections of certain fashion brands and I must admit that I am always delighted.
Today I present to you a real gem from the Burberry archive collection. Burberry trenches and coats represent the very top of world fashion fashion and have become iconic fashion classics of today. These coats were created by the founder of the Burberry company – Thomas Burberry more than 100 years ago, inspired by the British heritage, and at the same time introduced elements of urban fashion.
You can find all the classic Burberry coats in the basic 5 models: Legendary Kensington, Westminster, Chelsea, Waterloo and Pimlico. All models were named after city areas in London. What is the difference between these models?
The Kensington – a classic model with a modern cut that easily adapts to any silhouette. The most popular model, which is available in four basic colors: gray, navy blue, honey (camel) and black. Also, this model is made in two lengths.
The Westminster – a model that is oversized and lightly tailored for a draped silhouette. Basic colors: honey (camel) and dark military green (khaki). Also, this model is made in two lengths.
The Chelsea – a model characterized by a slim fit (narrow shape next to the body) with narrow shoulders and a cropped waist. The basic colors are honey and navy blue and it is also available in two lengths.
The Waterloo – A more comfortable cut, a longer model than the classic one with a subtle and relaxed cut, which is ideal for layered clothing. This model is made in three basic colors: chestnut, black and honey – camel and is available in only one length.
The Pimlico is a simple straight cut when adorned with a single-breasted button with a minimalist character and a modern cut. This model is usually made in navy blue, biscuit (biscuit color) and honey-camel color. This model is also available in only one classic length.
I would like to mention that all the listed colors are just classics that are always produced, but the Burberry company is introducing seasonal colors to enrich their offer.
Most Burberry coat models have been made in Castelford, Yorkshire for more than 50 years by hand from gabardine – a revolutionary fabric that Thomas Barberry proudly presented in 1879. Polished, light and practical, beautiful cotton resistant to various types of weather conditions, which has remained in the heart of the Burberry brand to this day.
The classic coat model originated and developed from the basic form of the Tielocken coat, which was patented in 1912 by Thomas Barberi. A simple yet sophisticated unique shape that has adapted over the years and become a recognizable Burberry coat.
Each Burberry trench is special and has its own story – one that is made to last and to write new pages of life chapters together with you. Coats and overcoats are an investment that pays off, it is also a gift for generations to come. Believe me, I know that from my own experience, because I inherited my first Burberry coat from my grandfather’s wardrobe before my blogging career, and today I gladly keep it and wear it on special occasions.
The leather coat that you have the opportunity to see in today’s post is special because it is made of the highest quality lambskin, which is especially thin with this model. This Kensington model is specific because it is filtered with the finest fluff and is double-lined with leather. Because of all this, the leather processing had to be different and the leather is significantly thinner than with classic Burberry leather coats.
I am glad that I got this exceptional opportunity to walk the streets of Berlin, this priceless piece that I did my best to enter because all the archive models are kept in runway sizes. Since you all know how often I complain about wider hips and my specific build, you will surely understand my “battle”.
My outfit today was complemented by two things that are very dear to me: the Ématelier watch and the Picard backpack.
You have had the opportunity to see this incredible Ématelier watch in previous posts, which, in addition to faithfully showing the time, is also a real master-piece of art that adorns the hand. My new friend Jaguar from the special collection “Kingdom” is a watch that was handmade in faraway Canada in the main workshop of Ématelier, a brand behind which stands a passionate watch lover, founder Alex Landa.

This Fall, novelties also arrived from my Picard friends who have supported my adventures around the world for years, and Picard leather friends have never let me down. The quality and design of Picard accessories is amazing and after so many years and carrying pounds of luggage I carry my Picard backpacks in blog posts as well.
Today I present to you model Buddy, my friend from the new Picard collection who is keeping me company in Berlin this season, while we are ready to look forward to the new adventures that await us. This backpack is made of the highest quality leather, a classic design in black.
My dear fashionistas, we have reached the end of this special post where we discovered some incredible iconic pieces for this winter season! How did you like my outfit today? Have you found some inspiration for some of yours great outfit in black color?
I really tried to prepare today’s post with a lot of love and I hope you will like it! See you in a couple of days with some new interesting story!
I advise you to listen to my advice due to the current health situation with the new variant of Corona virus – Lambda in almost all European and countries around the world. If you need to go out into the fresh air, take a walk and clear your mind and enjoy the charms of the autumn, feel free to do so, but do not go to places where there are a lot of people and thus encourage crowds.
If you have been vaccinated (both doses of the vaccine or even with third Booster dose) you need to wear a mask for your own safety. If you are abroad on vacation, I would ask you to respect local COVID-19 laws related to community health.
If you have any questions, comments, suggestions or a message for me, you can write to me below in the comments. Of course, as always, you can contact me via email or social media channels, which you can find on the CONTACT ME page. I’ll see you soon!
With love from Berlin,
Mr.M
This post is sponsored by Burberry, Ématelier, Picard, Brunello Cucinelli, Roberto Cavalli brands and represents my personal and honest review of their products.
I am a big fan of the Burberry brand and I have 3 of their trenches! My favorite models are Kensington and Chelsea. I like your coat, too bad Burberry didn’t make something similar in the women’s collection! 🙁
The coat and watch are pure perfection! I love black! You look like a model, there is no need to go on a diet, even if it was a slim model coat from the runway collection!
Ciao Marco! Today when I received an email that a new blog post is online, when I saw the cover image I just had to read the post! You look fantastic and thank you for the educational post, I really didn’t know Burberry has so many coat models! I enjoyed reading and looking forward to your future fashion stories!
