Dear my fashionistas, welcome to another fashion adventure on the Mr.M blog. I sincerely hope you are well and take care of your health during this unfavorable worldwide health situation. Before I start today’s post, I would like to sincerely thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful messages and inquiries about my recovery after the operations in Istanbul.
Mom and I are fine and recovery is underway. We feel fantastic and we are very happy with the results! I will soon write about our experience and more details about the procedures, so you will have the opportunity to learn more about our operations and our stay in Turkey in special blog post.
We all know that black is a symbol of eternal elegance and sophistication. Also, it is known that there is no woman in the world who does not have at least one black dress in her wardrobe, we all know what the famous Coco Chanel said about the little black dress, so there is no need to quote her. ?
Is it the same with trench and overcoats? Do we all need a black trench or coat? Today’s post will be dedicated to this eternal – “iconic” piece that never goes out of style.
I believe that everyone who follows my blog from the beginning knows mine about my fondness for double-breasted trenches and coats. These are just fashion pieces that are my real “pain” point and I have significantly more of these things than the average man in the wardrobe…
Many of you know that I have been running away from black for years because I was honest with myself and others, so I was just convinced that black can suit people who have lighter blond hair and blue or green eye color with of course a normal tan color since, I’m white tan as goat cheese, but we’ll talk about my blood analysis some other time! ?
I will share with you one fact, and that is that this gabardine black trench is also my first trench of black color and this length… I had the opportunity to wear coats of various colors, but the darkest I wore was navy blue and you had the opportunity to see on the blog. All the other trenches and coats were lighter shades, but apparently the time had come to fit one black Kensington coat into Mr.M’s closet.
The first question that surely interests everyone: Is it worth investing money in a black Burberry coat? My answer for now is MAYBE, but I say that exclusively because the right answer depends on the customer’s taste. Each of us knows ourselves, our taste and our wardrobe best. Of course, when we enter the store, experts believe that our subconscious is aroused and out of excitement we cannot judge correctly, and that is why sometimes an unnecessary purchase occurs.
Buying a Burberry trench or coat is an investment, it is a fashion piece that can really be worn nicely and for a long time with proper maintenance and it is a thing you can leave for generations to come. I inherited my first Burberry coat from my grandfather and today I keep it carefully and wear it on special occasions because it has a special sentimental value for me.
When the time comes to buy a Burberry trench, it’s a big deal and especially if you are buying a coat for the first time it is very important to buy a “iconic” piece that you can combine with your items from your wardrobe and it is best to buy a coat in your favorite color, without blindly following trends.
What are the basic colors you should think about when buying a Burberry trench or coat? There is no universal answer to this question, but I will share with you my opinion and some of my colleagues and fashion experts with whom I like to exchange opinions. I think that for a start, there are 3 colors by which the Burberry trench or coat is recognizable, and they are: Beige (stone color), Camel (honey color) and Black color.
These three colors are some fashion statement basics, but as I said it all depends on the taste of the owner of the new Burberry trench, maybe that customer thinks that the basic colors in the palette are: red, purple and olive green. Therefore, a person will decide to buy a coat in one of those colors, which Burberry has in its seasonal offer.
Is the length of the coat crucial when making a purchase decision? Of course! I always try to advise people to buy iconic items in classic cuts and lengths and not to blindly follow trends. Trends are changing, one season there are modern coats of casual cuts with puff sleeves quite long length to the ground, after two months or a year later another trend comes.
My most honest advice is to buy a coat of length that suits your body constitution in proportion to your own height. Burberry coats exist in several lengths and I am sure you can always find the ideal coat for yourself.
Due to my height and constitution, I opted for the classic Kensington coat, if you want to remind yourself of the difference between Burberry coat models and coats, read my previous post, where I explained in detail the characteristics of each coat model offered by British fashion house Burberry.
Once again, is it worth investing money in a black coat? If you’re a fan of black and have a lot of black stuff, then I think you know the right answer. If you feel some kind of insecurity while trying on a black coat and reconsider your decision several times, I think it’s best to try a different color. When you buy an expensive thing like a Burberry coat, it is something that must be accompanied by a feeling of fulfillment and security.
The trenches or coats are pieces that are worn over other pieces of clothing, so it is best to look at your favorite pieces of clothing and footwear before buying and evaluate for yourself which are the two or three colors that might come into consideration when buying a coat.
Since new winter “tenants” of black, gray, red, beige and white have recently moved into my wardrobe, I realized that maybe a black trench would be a new challenge for me and that’s why I decided to make my new double-breasted gabardine friend be just a classic black.
Did we fit in nicely at the end? Honestly, I believe we are. After so many years of loyalty to this British brand and because of my personal interest, I have learned a lot about their offer and I am lucky to always be able to show my favorite pieces from the fashion house Burberry on my blog.
In addition to the famous double-breasted trench, another piece of clothing – knitwear was made in Scotland, and that is this beautiful cashmere sweater, which is also the work of the fashion house Burberry.
OUTFIT
Trench: Burberry
Sweater: Burberry
Jeans: Brunello Cucinelli
Shoes: Salvatore Ferragamo
I have to admit that I had doubts when choosing the lower part of this outfit and that I was thinking whether to combine classic gray or black trousers or to go with the jeans.
I decided for jeans for the reason that it should be an everyday combination, classic trousers would be too much for an outfit that should be relaxed and I wanted everything to be in some balance.
The shoes themselves are very elegant and they have given a special mark to this fashion combination and together with the trench they have created a real fashion harmony.
My dear fashionistas, we have come to the end of this special post where together we discovered the beauty of black tones in autumn fashion outfits! See you soon and continue our fashion adventures on the Mr.M blog with the hope that I will take new and interesting photos when my bruises pass! How did you like my outfit today?
I really tried to prepare today’s post for you with a lot of love and I hope you will like it!
I advise you to listen to my advice due to the current health situation with the new variant of Corona virus – Lambda in almost all European and countries around the world. If you need to go out into the fresh air, take a walk and clear your mind and enjoy the charms of the autumn, feel free to do so, but do not go to places where there are a lot of people and thus encourage crowds.
If you have been vaccinated (both doses of the vaccine or even with third Booster dose) you need to wear a mask for your own safety. If you are abroad on vacation, I would ask you to respect local COVID-19 laws related to community health.
If you have any questions, comments, suggestions or a message for me, you can write to me below in the comments. Of course, as always, you can contact me via email or social media channels, which you can find on the CONTACT ME page. See you soon!
With love from Berlin,
Mr.M
