My dear fashionistas, welcome to a new fashion story on the Mr.M blog. We start today’s fashion adventure with new friends of Mr.M blog – FAY. Maybe this brand sounds unfamiliar to you, but if I mention the Tod’s brand, then many of you will recognize the brand because you had the opportunity to get to know this luxury Italian brand better over the past years on the Mr.M blog.
Tod’s S.p.A. is a company specializing in the production of footwear, clothing and fashion accessories with its brands Tod’s, Hogan, Fay and Roger Vivier. This fashion story is the result of the work and effort of the Della Valle family.
The history of the brand dates back to the early 1980s in the USA, when Diego and Andrea Della Valle discovered work jackets worn by the Maine fire department. Models of legendary jackets forged in the USA, cooled in fashionable Italy, Realizing the potential, they took over the Fay brand, a specialized manufacturer of technical clothing for fishermen and firefighters, bringing it to Italy with a very clear idea: to adapt work-wear to the urban environment.
Fay started its fashion story as a menswear brand, but along the way experienced a magical evolution in the womenswear market, winning the hearts of women around the world who always know how to appreciate a soft feminine cut, as well as the ability to adapt to any body type without losing sight of quality and class .
Fay work jackets became a great solution for city life, and soon rose to cult status in capitals around the world: “Fay 4 Ganci“. The constantly reworked iconic jacket is now followed by a clothing line, made recognizable by its innovative materials and timeless authentic Italian outerwear features. “Gancio” – a cult and easily recognizable symbol of the world of work-wear – expresses an always current attitude to the outdoors. It takes pride of place in durable, versatile and timeless clothing.
Fay Archive – The brand’s journey began in 2019, fusing the true spirit of American work-wear with innate Italian style. The Fay Archive goes back to Fay’s DNA, celebrating her origins and expanding them to suit every conceivable type of adventure, from city life to the great outdoors.
The fashion group Tod’s is known for its national and international socially responsible projects of sustainable development. One of the most famous projects is “Tod’s for the Colosseum” – the restoration of the Colosseum, a symbol of Italian history.
The intervention plan for the restoration of the Colosseum is a project commissioned by the Delegate Commissioner for the Archaeological Areas of Rome and Ostia Antica, in collaboration with the Special Group for the Protection of the Colosseum and the Archaeological Area of Rome, and was implemented thanks to the selfless support of Tod’s Group. The first phase of the works has been completed and included the renovation of the northern and southern facades, covering an area of about 13,300 square meters and the replacement of the arch closing system with the construction of new gates.
The renovation plan will continue with the renovation of the basement of the Colosseum, the standardization and implementation of the system and the construction of a service center that enables the execution of additional support activities for visitors to this cultural monument.
The second phase of the works, which began in December 2018, under the leadership of the new autonomous institute Parco Archeologico del Colosseo, included the area of the hypogea, a “monument within a monument” a kind of amphitheater that is located below the arena and was invisible to spectators in ancient times . More than 80 people participated in the restoration work, including archaeologists, restorers, architects, engineers and other experts. At the end of the works, a 160-meter-long promenade was installed, accessible to all visitors, which gave visitors the opportunity to see a hitherto unexplored part of the Colosseum that was not feasible before.
Tod’s as a brand stood out for its quality leather and models that come from artisanal shoemakers. Mr. Diego Della Valle’s idea was to create a shoe suitable for both formal and informal occasions, with a casual, comfortable, simple but refined taste. On the other hand, FAY stood out with its refined sports elegance and jackets that the whole world loved.
Today, the FAY brand represents the pinnacle of Italian fashion and, in addition to work jackets, produces clothing, knitwear and fashion accessories that have found their place in the hearts of celebrities across Hollywood. My outfit today is decorated with a yellow quilted jacket, a summer knitted T-shirt and trousers from the new FAY’s SS24 collection. The jacket is a classic timeless model and can always be found in the FAY collection.

Lanvin is a French luxury fashion house based in Paris. Founded in 1889 by Jeanne Lanvin, it is the oldest French fashion house still in operation. Since 2018, it has been a subsidiary of the Lanvin Group based in Shanghai. The House of Lanvin was named after its founder Jeanne Lanvin in 1889. Lanvin was founded in 1867 and opened its first store in rue du Marche Saint Honore in 1885.
Lanvin made clothes for her daughter Marie-Blanche de Polignac, which began to attract the attention of many wealthy people, who were looking for creations for their children. Soon Lanvin was making dresses for their mothers, who were included in the clientele of her new boutique on rue Faubourg Saint-Honore in Paris. In 1909, Lanvin joined the Syndicat de la Couture, marking her formal status as a couturier. The Lanvin logo was inspired by a photograph taken of Jeanne Lanvin while attending a ball with her daughter in 1907. As Albert Elbaz said, “It is not a lion and it is not a horse. It’s mother and daughter, I find the logo very emotional.” Since 1923, the Lanvin empire has included a paint factory in Nanterre.
When Lanvin died in 1946, ownership of the company passed to her daughter Marguerite, who shared the management of the company from 1942 with a cousin, then an expert in the fashion industry. Since Marie-Blanche de Polignac was childless when she died in 1958, ownership of the House of Lanvin went to a cousin, Yves Lanvin. From the mid-1960s until the takeover by L’Oreal in 1996, Lanvin was led by Bernard Lanvin. The export department was in the original factory in Nanterre where all the perfumes were produced and bottled. The administrative seat was in Paris. In 1979, Lanvin bought its independence from Squibb USA and Paris organized a major PR promotional tour in the United States that same year. Midland Bank bought a stake in the company from the family in March 1989 and hired Leon Bressler to restore the firm’s faded image. However, in February 1990, Midland folded and sold Lanvin to Orcofa, a French holding company run by the Vuitton family.
In today’s post you have the opportunity to see their new model of Bumper sneakers that are completely made in white leather. This model exists in various variations and combinations of materials and each sneaker is unique and unusual.

Dear Marko, there really isn’t a color that you can’t bring out in the best possible way. Have you had facial surgery since I notice that you have no pout and your jawbone is prominent?! You look great! Very nice and refreshing outfit for this spring! I’m thinking of buying my husband a FAY jacket, I love this yellow color!
Yellow color is popular this season along with green. Your outfit is really nice! You combined white, yellow and dark colors nicely. To me, the jacket and pants are really fabulous. You look different, somehow you look younger, if you have done something on your face, it’s really nicely done with measure!
I love all the brands from the Tod’s group, I mostly buy Tod’s, Fay and Roger Vivier stuff. I love Roger Vivier shoes because of the crystals! You always shine and radiate that positive energy, so it’s simply impossible to ignore you.
I love quilted jackets, and this ocher yellow is such a beautiful color for spring. Since I heard FAY has bigger numbers, what’s your shopping tip? Is this jacket true to size or does it have to be sized up or down to fit?
Dear Claude,
Thank you for your message. The jacket on me is XL, honestly I made a mistake, I could have taken L, but I made a bad judgement. I would say that it is true to size and that the cuts are normal. I hope I helped you. I wish you a nice and pleasant shopping and that you enjoy your new FAY jacket. If you need any other advice or have any additional questions, feel free to contact me.
With best regards,
Marko
Tod’s and Fay are truly timeless brands. Tod’s is a dry elegance that simply never goes out of style, while FAY is more for everyday wear, but with a certain amount of elegance. I enjoyed your fashion story today!
Dear Marko, you look lovely as always! Your blog is always just something more than fashion itself. I love to read your blog as it has some soul.
