The Olsen sisters started working on their brand from The Row atelier in Tribeca at 609 Greenwich Street in New York, which has been open since 2012, while the brand’s Paris office opened in 2011 and London office opened in 2019. At first, the Olsen sisters did not want their names to be associated with the brand in any way and preferred to let the clothes speak for themselves. They did not give an interview about The Row brand for the first three years after its creation.

The Row first created a menswear collection for spring 2011, and in October 2016, the brand officially launched a new menswear collection at its stores in Los Angeles and New York, with the intention of continuing to expand its offering for men.

Two years later in August 2018, The Row created a full menswear collection that included suits, denim and knits. The Olsen sisters conducted two years of research before launching the collection, which became available in stores in October 2018. We will continue today’s fashion adventure with old well-known friends of Mr.M blog – Fratelli Rossetti. This Italian footwear brand that I’m sure everyone recognizes for their comfortable shoes that are made from the highest quality materials Fratelli Rossetti footwear is fantastic for the reason that this brand makes classic shoes that are elegant and simply unbeatable, shoes for all time! What is the story of this brand? In the middle of the 20th century, more precisely in 1945, Mr. Renzo Rossetti started his story from scratch, where he worked alone to cut leather for several types of sports shoes. His shoes were sold at the famous Brigatti store in Milan, one of the few remaining stores of its kind in the city. After a few years, Fratelli Rossetti saw success, but, wanting to develop further, they transferred the brands and equipment for this special production to Atala Sport in Padua.

The jewelry I wear always has a special story and that’s why I like to wear it. I received these earrings almost 50 years ago from my late mother for my 18th birthday. These earrings belonged to my grandmother, then my mother and she gave them to me. When I wear them I always think of my mom who was an extremely brave, strong and wise woman. These earrings have no particular material value, but for me they have an incredibly high sentimental value because I received them from the woman who brought me into this world, raised me and always provided strength and inspiration in the most important periods of my life.

Today we will learn a new term that I will often use during the presentation of this brand – companion. They are windows into this vast, icy expanse and represent a subtle artisanal intuition. Enamel is a precious material used to make S&C dials where artists have the opportunity to express their skills.

What is Enamel? Enamel is a glass mixture made of silicon dioxide and various metal oxides added to create different shades. Before any color can be applied, the craftsman must create a good basis for further artistic work. The enamel is crushed, ground and purified, first in distilled water and then in nitric acid. Then the copper, silver or gold plate is cleaned and coated with a layer of white enamel on both sides. The end result is a perfectly clean “canvas” for painting without the fear that the copper will bend when exposed to extreme temperatures.

After the process of making an enamelled dial, we come to the most complex part of making an enamelled watch, and that is making the dial. Because the colors of the enamel react differently and change in the oven, the designer must know exactly in advance how the material will react in order to create a work of art that can be faithfully reproduced.

Once the dial is properly constructed with the coated dial plate, the painting process can begin! The artist prepares a palette of colors with the nuances needed to create a predetermined image. The image must be carefully applied in several layers and baked in an oven up to 800ºC between painting processes. First, harder, more elastic colors are applied that can withstand multiple cracking, while gentle shades are kept in the final stages. With just a small misjudgment, the dial can warp, burst, or explode. Since the colors react to the heat both individually and collectively, a small mistake in the order can lead to unwanted results and force the masters to start re-making the enamelled dial.

Owning a dial, that little enamel masterpiece in my personal collection is exceptional. Due to the cost and complexity associated with its creation, the vast majority of enameled works are in museums. The rarity of skilled craftsmen is another factor, as the craft almost became extinct in the early twentieth century.

Proof that miracles are possible is Mrs. Françoise Remmonay of the Donzé Cadran Atelier based in Le Locle and she is a member of the S&C team and she is in charge of enamelled medallions and dials. In today’s fashion story, you will have the opportunity to see the dial that she made – a model of a frozen ocean that offers a view of the coldest continent in the world – Antarctica.

The Solune Grand Art watch model that you have the opportunity to see in today’s post represents a captured moment of an eternally living landscape of frozen waves of a turbulent ocean. The dial enameling process of this watch model begins with the sculpting of fine sheets of silver that are shaped into a realistic wave structure that provides personality and depth. Several layers of rare and limited enamel derived from antique enamel ateliers were then applied to the silver relief. This composition of enamel relief combined with vibrant colors creates a unique watch with a strong and distinctive character.

Lanvin is a French luxury fashion house based in Paris. Founded in 1889 by Jeanne Lanvin, it is the oldest French fashion house still in operation. Valentino is one of the most famous Italian luxury fashion houses founded in 1960 by Valentino Garavani and is part of the Valentino Fashion Group. Since October 2008, the creative director has been Pierpaolo Piccioli, together with Maria Grazia Chiuri from 2008 to 2016, Mr. Piccioli left Valentino this year. The headquarters of the company is in Milan, while the creative team and workshop are located in the heart of Italy in the eternal city – Rome.

Valentino was founded in 1960, when Mr. Garavani opened a fashion house in Via Condotti, Rome with the support of his father and his father’s associate Giancarlo Giammetti. Two years later, Valentino’s international debut took place in 1962 in Florence, the Italian capital of fashion at the time. Valentino gained popularity in 1967 after releasing his “colorless” collection which consisted of white, beige and ivory clothing. The collection did not use any psychedelic patterns, which was a commonly used design during the time. The V logo was also introduced and years later the brand spread to New York. This brand organized the first menswear show at Milan Fashion Week in 1985.

Interestingly, Valentino also specially designed wedding dresses for Elizabeth Taylor, Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Lopez, Courteney Cox, Sophie Hunter, Nicola Peltz and Princess Madeleine of Sweden.

As a woman in her prime, I’ve had the opportunity to wear a variety of designer and lesser-known creations, but this dress holds a special place in my heart because of the unusual stripes and of course the inevitable neutral beige color that I adore. The dress is midi length with slits with slightly formed sleeves that fall loosely.

Today we continue the story of an unusual Belgian brand of luxury leather goods that combines refined simplicity and unbridled fantasy in the creation of its fantastic bags – DAMIAAN. Having earned a master’s degree in journalism, Christina Zeller was not destined for her professional career. On the runway as a model at the age of 23, she discovered the world of fashion, which she has never left since. She worked for the biggest fashion houses and designers in France and Belgium. Karl Lagerfeld gave her wings, boldness, fantasy and the privilege to experiment. Working with Christian Lacroix, she learned the rigor of research that always seeks the exceptional and never settles for second best. Her close collaboration with Riccardo Tisci led to the development of all his fashion accessories. Enriched and emboldened by this experience, she joined Delvaux in 2011, where she spent nine years at the helm of the creative, marketing and communications department, contributing to the brand’s luster and brilliance. She once stated: “I have always worked with passion and I was lucky enough to start each day with a smile. With DAMIAAN, I have come full circle and I can feel all the emotions and excitement as if it were the first time.”

The bag you see in today’s fashion story is the Bootbag, which is made in Italy, bringing together two separate crafts: boots and bag making. Exceptional skills are required in making this sophisticated handbag model, where one craftsman works hand in hand with another to make the bag look its best. The Bootbag will have you wandering around impervious to all the elements, and its leather sole will withstand even the occasional puddle or two you encounter. The necklace you see in today’s story caught your attention in one of the previous stories, so I wanted to show it to you in this elegant version with the dress. For those who haven’t read in the previous story, I got this necklace from my husband as a gift for our 30th wedding anniversary, I remember that we all went as a family to the capital of Italy – Rome to celebrate our wedding anniversary with our children. On the first day while walking around the main street for shopping, I spotted this necklace and told my daughter how beautiful and unusual it was, then we continued our walk.

My daughter conveyed my findings to father and they made a plan to buy the necklace. I was shocked and positively surprised when the next day at dinner when we celebrated our wedding anniversary I saw the Bvlgari bag and as I needed time to compose myself, Marko unwrapped the box and put the necklace around my neck. I wore this necklace several times during the celebration of important events in our family and today I am sharing this memory with you.

The bracelet was given to my son from one of his long trips where he found this unusual bracelet in real 24k gold with dark brown enamel details at a jewelry store. What is special about this bracelet is the clasp itself in the shape of two giraffes in love, which is actually the best part of this unusual bracelet. It’s been a few years since I received this wonderful gift, but today I put it on for the first time and I think I did the right thing.

Since you are all familiar with the fact that I am a big and passionate lover of flat shoes, especially ballet flats, for today’s post I decided to show you my new Tory Burch patent ballet flats. As for the color of these ballet flats, it’s a separate story because I saw in the catalog that they were marked as plums color, while in person they are some unusual colors, to me they look like dark brown and that’s how I will combine them. 🙂

They are very comfortable and elegant with the distinctive logo of the brand. Honestly, I’m so happy and will be happy to wear them in all seasons! In the past, it was almost an impossible mission, but with the emergence of platforms where you can present your project and request financial assistance to achieve your business goals, anything is possible.

Crowdfunding platforms have taken on a very special importance during the last couple of years, especially in the watch industry. While in the past an extremely large amount of capital was required, today there is an almost endless community of watch enthusiasts from all over the world who could help you make your dreams come true. The best thing about it: if watch enthusiasts like your project, many of them are willing to financially support the project before the official start of production even begins.

That’s exactly what Mr. Thierry Clottu managed to do, when he completed an impressive Kickstarter campaign in July 2016. When he successfully raised the financial means for making watches, he set about creating his own watchmaking brand, which he had been dreaming about for years.

Mr. Clottu started making his dreams come true in 2015, when he made the first sketches for his new project. By the way, the name “DONE Watches” has a double meaning: on the one hand, it represents the founder’s personal challenge to create a successful watch brand himself, that is, to actually do it. On the other hand, the name alludes to the region of the brand’s birth, located in Neuchâtel, Switzerland – Done in Neuchâtel.

Mr. Clottu has already successfully established three watch collections, which are called Classic, Skeleton and Automatic. The story of this unusual Swiss brand DONE watches began in 2016, with the “MECHANICA ME1A” from the Classic series, a sporty-elegant everyday watch with a small second at 9 o’clock and a beautifully decorated hand-wound caliber.

Automatic three-handers, on the other hand, are significantly more timeless, with only a classic date window at 3 o’clock and available in 40mm (men’s) and 36mm (women’s) diameters. For those who prefer something a little more extravagant on their wrist, Clottu has developed the elegant Skeleton models, which boast an open caliber and DLC coating.

Today’s fashion adventure continues with old well-known friends of Mr.M blog – Fratelli Rossetti. This Italian footwear brand that I’m sure everyone recognizes for their comfortable shoes that are made from the highest quality materials Fratelli Rossetti footwear is fantastic for the reason that this brand makes classic shoes that are elegant and simply unbeatable, shoes for all time! An impressive fact is that the company headquarters is located in a 14th-century castle on top of a hill in the middle of Umbria, an area known as the “green heart” of Italy. Brunello Cucinelli donates 20% of profits to its charitable foundation and pays workers wages that are 20% higher than the fashion industry average. Also interesting information is that the employees of the company have extremely flexible working hours and that e-mails are not allowed after working hours. This is one of the few fashion houses that have such good working conditions, which is commendable in today’s age of classical capitalism.

My outfit today is adorned with two pieces of clothing from the latest Brunello Cucinelli SS24 collection, namely this beautiful baby blue jacket and trousers. In addition to the cut, colors and quality of the material, I was also delighted by the length of this baby blue blazer, which is ideal for all occasions, from going to work, to performing daily duties in the city, and for going to some more festive events of a different character. In addition to the blazer, the other piece that simply delighted me are these trousers, which contain a high percentage of silk and of course the most important thing is the fantastic baby blue color that goes with absolutely everything.

All of you who follow my fashion stories know that I am a big fan of quality and interesting shoes and I always try to pay maximum attention to fashion details such as footwear. Today I want to introduce you to an Italian brand whose footwear models I adore and so far you have had the opportunity to see some of their famous models in Marko’s fashion stories on the Mr.M blog.

Salvatore Ferragamo, rebranded in September 2022 as Ferragamo is a luxury Italian fashion house based in Florence. Having earned a master’s degree in journalism, Christina Zeller was not destined for her professional career. On the runway as a model at the age of 23, she discovered the world of fashion, which she has never left since. She worked for the biggest fashion houses and designers in France and Belgium. Karl Lagerfeld gave her wings, boldness, fantasy and the privilege to experiment. Working with Christian Lacroix, she learned the rigor of research that always seeks the exceptional and never settles for second best. Her close collaboration with Riccardo Tisci led to the development of all his fashion accessories. Enriched and emboldened by this experience, she joined Delvaux in 2011, where she spent nine years at the helm of the creative, marketing and communications department, contributing to the brand’s luster and brilliance. In today’s fashion story, I present to you the Snakebag model that is made in France and its classic crescent design belies its clever construction. How else would you get a writhing snake to hold a bag while holding its tongue? The almost invisible seams require exceptional craftsmanship, which our craftsmen have perfected through trials and tribulations to maintain the allure and mystery of their sinuous tail. As real as the snake looks, if you are afraid of snakes you don’t have to shy away because this charming snake will brighten your day!

Snakebag comes in two sizes: small and medium. This model can be found in several color combinations. The decision was difficult, but I decided on a white Snakebag with black details.

The second brand that I want to introduce you to today comes to us from France and I am sure that many of you have at least one of their creations in your wardrobe – IKKS.

IKKS is a French ready-to-wear brand founded in 1987 by Gérard Le Goff in La Seguiniere. The brand was part of the Kidiliz Group for several years before being sold to the White Knight LBO France fund in July 2015. It is one of the first French players in the ready-to-wear medium and high-end range with wide distribution.

How did the IKKS brand get its name? Gérard Le Goff originally wanted to call his mark “X”. As this name was transferred to clothing originally intended for children, the designer chose the name IKKS, which is actually pronounced “X”.

IKKS is undertaking a sincere process of transformation, a comprehensive transformation, which will be applied to every aspect of the company, retaining the strength anchored in their DNA and improving the weaknesses that are observed today. They engage in a resilience approach because IKKS Group management believes that everyone has their share of responsibility. Regarding the story about the jewelry, I got the necklace from my husband as a gift for our 30th wedding anniversary, I remember that we all went to the capital of Italy – Rome as a family to celebrate our wedding anniversary with our children. On the first day while walking around the main street for shopping, I spotted this necklace and told my daughter how beautiful and unusual it was, then we continued our walk. The daughter conveyed my findings to her father and they made a plan to buy the necklace. I was shocked and positively surprised when I saw the Bvlgari shopping bag at dinner the next day when we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and as I needed time to compose myself, Marko unwrapped the box and put the necklace around my neck. I wore this necklace several times during the celebration of important events in our family and today I am sharing this memory with you.

On the other hand, I bought the Cartier earrings when I went on a press media trip with Marko to Qatar last year and I couldn’t resist them. These are my go-to iconic earrings for all time, unique and will be trendy this season as well as seasons to come.

I got the brooch as a gift from my dear friends from the fashion house Max Mara and I think it is now on sale, Marko just told me that he saw it in Berlin a few days ago, so he told me the interesting thing is that it is on a seasonal discount.

I am convinced that many young women and ladies in their prime have once heard and encountered the pure and incredible elegance and refinement of the Italian fashion house Luisa Spagnoli.

How did this magnificent Italian brand come about? Mrs. Luisa Sargentini Spagnoli, born in 1877, in Perugia, was one of the most famous Italian businesswomen of her time, known for creating the brand of a women’s clothing factory.

Mrs. Spagnoli, together with Giovanni Buitoni, created the small company Perugina based in the historic center of Perugia. Perugina initially started with 15 employees. With the outbreak of the First World War when the men had to go to the front, Mrs. Spagnoli was left to do the work alone with her three children, including two sons Mario and Aldo, taking care of them alone.

After the war, the Perugino factory grew to more than 100 employees. Not long after, in 1922, a brand of Italian chocolates called Baci (which means “Kisses” in Italian) was created. By 1939, her Baci Perugina brand of chocolate was so successful that it reached other countries, including the US. The famous Italian Baci chocolate conquered the world with its original recipe that has not changed since day one.

After the end of the war, Luisa founded a new enterprise that was engaged in the breeding of poultry and angora rabbits. She came up with the idea of ​​using angora yarn to make knitted boleros and modern clothing items, she put her idea into action in 1928 when she trademarked her idea l’Angora Spagnoli. Her innovation was presented at the Fiera di Milano exhibition, and the company’s activities soon expanded. Unfortunately, since she was diagnosed with throat cancer, Mrs. Spagnoli was unable to witness and enjoy the growth of her company, which began about four years later under the leadership of her son Mario. Mr. Giovanni Buitoni moved her to Paris to receive the best medical care and stayed with her until her death in Paris in 1935 at the age of 58.

After her death, son Mario shifted her company from fine crafts to a more industrialized focus in 1937. He is credited with the invention of the comb for collecting wool and the clamp for tattooing angora rabbits, which were patented in 1942. Later, in 1947, Mario built the Citta dell’angora (which translates to the city of Angora) factory, located in the center of the growing community. In the 1960s, he founded the Citta della Domenica playground, originally called Spagnolia, which is still a destination for visitors today. Under the leadership of Mario’s son Hannibal, entrepreneur and president of Perugia Calcio, production diversified and the family created a network of Luisa Spagnoli brand stores. There are now more than 100 stores worldwide, and the company still has its headquarters in Perugia today.

This roll is made of a special silk hand-woven thread and is very comfortable to wear during the warmer days of the year, there is no fear of sweating because the silk thread is an excellent material, comfortable and the skin can breathe. In addition, this roll has no sleeves, so you can always wear it under a jacket or a light jacket.

Since you are all familiar with the fact that I am a big and passionate lover of flat shoes, especially ballet flats, for today’s post I decided to show you my new Tory Burch patent ballet flats. As for the color of these ballet flats, it’s a separate story because I saw in the catalog that they were marked as plums color, while in person they are some unusual colors, to me they look like dark brown and that’s how I will combine them. 🙂

In addition to elegant and refined clothes, I always like to wear pearls, which have always been a timeless fashion classic. My outfit today was enriched by a pearl necklace from the famous Macedonian brand Ohrid Pearl Filevi 1928. My neck is adorned with very elegant two-row pearl necklace necklace with filigree and baroque pearl.

The Filevi family is a family that has been producing Ohrid pearls since 1928, which is confirmed by historical facts and numerous institutions. Let’s go back to the brand that is the subject of today’s fashion story. Dior as a French brand, dating back to the 1940s, provides fashion lovers around the world with some of the most beautiful garments, be it cocktail ready-to-wear or haute couture gowns on the red carpet or luxurious everyday pieces that are sure to catch the eye of everyone who they see you. This timeless brand has also stood the test of time, evolving with each creative leader who has passed through its doors. The fashion house has hosted some of the most incredible talent in the industry and I firmly believe it will continue to do so for years to come.

When and where did the fashion adventure called Christian Dior begin? Although it was unofficially created in 1946, the Dior brand states in its data that 1947 is the year of its beginning, because that is when the first collection of the fashion house debuted. Christian Dior launched the brand in Paris with a shop at the famous 30 Avenue Montaigne street. An interesting fact is that it took less than three months from the creation of the brand to present the first collection on February 12, 1947.

Mr. Dior had a deep love and respect for art and ran an art gallery in France before entering fashion. After closing his gallery during the Great Depression, he worked for fashion designer Robert Piguet and then-couture designer Lucien Lelong. Dior was still willing to have his work shown, which led him to create his own fashion house in 1946, and Christian Dior was born.

Soon, Dior became a globally famous fashion brand. He opened a store on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street in New York in 1948, making Dior’s first official entry into the American market. With the global launch came an expanded collection. Dior started with his fragrance notes, introducing Miss Dior, which he dedicated to his sister. It was around this time that Dior realized that his brand needed to provide an overall fashion experience in order to continue his conceptual vision and change the design of his brand.

Every Dior customer could have coats, shoes, hats and every other piece necessary to fully capture the new “fashion wave” from head to toe. The Dior brand continued to grow, and Dior himself continued to dress the biggest stars of the time. He even created the famous Marlene Dietrich for her role in the 1950 Alfred Hitchcock film “Stage Fright”. His creations remained a permanent part of her wardrobe, like many other divas of the late 40s and early 50s of the last century.

Christian Dior died in 1957 as a result of a massive heart attack at the age of 52. The entire fashion world mourned the loss of an industry icon who disappeared from the fashion scene too soon. To maintain the soul of the brand after Dior’s death, Mr. Yves Saint Laurent (Yves Saint Laurent) took on the role of artistic director of the brand. The 21-year-old continued Dior’s legacy, largely keeping the original creative vision intact. However, he sought to bring the brand to a softer silhouette, loosening the cinched waists and dropping some of the structure. This bag is a testament to the exceptional taste in the Dior ateliers, the Lady Dior bag is a continuation of Christian Dior’s heritage, each element is carefully crafted, in line with the heritage of the house. The metal pendants that fall from the belt are inspired by the amulets he loved so much, and the signature stitching is familiar from the Napoleon III chairs that guests of Dior runway shows would sit on: a thread of history runs through each one.
