FAY: Italian Style combining Tradition with Quality…

My dear fashionistas, welcome to a new fashion story on the Mr.M blog. We start today’s fashion adventure with new friends of Mr.M blog – FAY. Maybe this brand sounds unfamiliar to you, but if I mention the Tod’s brand, then many of you will recognize the brand because you had the opportunity to get to know this luxury Italian brand better over the past years on the Mr.M blog.

Tod’s S.p.A. is a company specializing in the production of footwear, clothing and fashion accessories with its brands Tod’s, Hogan, Fay and Roger Vivier. This fashion story is the result of the work and effort of the Della Valle family.

The history of the brand dates back to the early 1980s in the USA, when Diego and Andrea Della Valle discovered work jackets worn by the Maine fire department. Models of legendary jackets forged in the USA, cooled in fashionable Italy, Realizing the potential, they took over the Fay brand, a specialized manufacturer of technical clothing for fishermen and firefighters, bringing it to Italy with a very clear idea: to adapt work-wear to the urban environment.

Fay started its fashion story as a menswear brand, but along the way experienced a magical evolution in the womenswear market, winning the hearts of women around the world who always know how to appreciate a soft feminine cut, as well as the ability to adapt to any body type without losing sight of quality and class .

The fashion group Tod’s is known for its national and international socially responsible projects of sustainable development. One of the most famous projects is “Tod’s for the Colosseum” – the restoration of the Colosseum, a symbol of Italian history.

The intervention plan for the restoration of the Colosseum is a project commissioned by the Delegate Commissioner for the Archaeological Areas of Rome and Ostia Antica, in collaboration with the Special Group for the Protection of the Colosseum and the Archaeological Area of Rome, and was implemented thanks to the selfless support of Tod’s Group. The first phase of the works has been completed and included the renovation of the northern and southern facades, covering an area of about 13,300 square meters and the replacement of the arch closing system with the construction of new gates.

The renovation plan will continue with the renovation of the basement of the Colosseum, the standardization and implementation of the system and the construction of a service center that enables the execution of additional support activities for visitors to this cultural monument.

The second phase of the works, which began in December 2018, under the leadership of the new autonomous institute Parco Archeologico del Colosseo, included the area of the hypogea, a “monument within a monument” a kind of amphitheater that is located below the arena and was invisible to spectators in ancient times . More than 80 people participated in the restoration work, including archaeologists, restorers, architects, engineers and other experts. At the end of the works, a 160-meter-long promenade was installed, accessible to all visitors, which gave visitors the opportunity to see a hitherto unexplored part of the Colosseum that was not feasible before.

Lanvin is a French luxury fashion house based in Paris. Founded in 1889 by Jeanne Lanvin, it is the oldest French fashion house still in operation. Since 2018, it has been a subsidiary of the Lanvin Group based in Shanghai. The House of Lanvin was named after its founder Jeanne Lanvin in 1889. Lanvin was founded in 1867 and opened its first store in rue du Marche Saint Honore in 1885.

Lanvin made clothes for her daughter Marie-Blanche de Polignac, which began to attract the attention of many wealthy people, who were looking for creations for their children. Soon Lanvin was making dresses for their mothers, who were included in the clientele of her new boutique on rue Faubourg Saint-Honore in Paris. In 1909, Lanvin joined the Syndicat de la Couture, marking her formal status as a couturier. Since Marie-Blanche de Polignac was childless when she died in 1958, ownership of the House of Lanvin went to a cousin, Yves Lanvin. From the mid-1960s until the takeover by L’Oreal in 1996, Lanvin was led by Bernard Lanvin. The export department was in the original factory in Nanterre where all the perfumes were produced and bottled. The administrative seat was in Paris. In 1979, Lanvin bought its independence from Squibb USA and Paris organized a major PR promotional tour in the United States that same year. Midland Bank bought a stake in the company from the family in March 1989 and hired Leon Bressler to restore the firm’s faded image. However, in February 1990, Midland folded and sold Lanvin to Orcofa, a French holding company run by the Vuitton family.

Today I will continue story about new friends of the Mr.M blog who have managed to bring together exquisite luxury artisan crafts, Italian passion and exquisite Neapolitan craftsmanship. Artigiano del Guanto (ADG) is an artisan glove workshop active in the northern part of Naples, founded by Giovanni Ricciardiello, an experienced glove maker for 10 decades, a historical exponent of the tradition of the ancient Neapolitan glove makers. A few years ago, in 2016 to be precise, the laboratory was renovated and with it the brand was born: Artigiano Del Guanto.

Today, Artigiano Del Guanto is no longer a “simple” workshop of artisan gloves, but a family company in which the new generation of heirs Francesco, Mimmo and Flora, Giovanni’s children stand out, who, with the indispensable presence of their father, in addition to the brand, renewed the production chain with a completely new styles and models, connected with new modern communication channels, in order to satisfy the needs of even the most demanding customer. Over the years, the Artigiano Del Guanto collections have attracted the attention of very prestigious international high fashion brands such as Giorgio Armani, MaxMara, Coccinelle and Pinko, with whom today the Ricciardiello family’s ADG artisan glove laboratory proudly collaborates as an official manufacturer.

In today’s fashion story, I will present you unusual gloves Electra GKJ-02130. This model of women’s gloves is made of lambskin, with a heart on the back, applied using a matrix and hand sewing. The lining is made of 100% cashmere.

Because of the bright tones of this outfit, I decided to show you another pair of Artigiano Del Guanto gloves, which went perfectly with this outfit. Model T.Kuribayashi Gloves (GKJ-02126) are gloves with interlocking laces and knots on the back that intertwine at the wrist, completely handmade in the Artigiano Del Guanto laboratories from lambskin leather. This time I decided to complete my outfit with shoes from the Italian brand Tod’s. There is no person who has not resisted wearing shoes of this famous Italian fashion house, regardless of whether it is a person of female or male gender, Tod’s shoes are loved by the whole planet because of their refined elegance and incredible comfort. In today’s fashion story, I will present you some fashion pieces from my favorite Italian brand – Max Mara. Max Mara is a world famous Italian fashion brand. It was founded in 1951 in Reggio Emilia by Mr. Achille Maramotti. This legendary brand sponsors and awards the Max Mara Women’s Art Award. Achille Maramotti began creating wardrobes in 1947, and officially founded the Max Mara fashion house in 1951. How did the brand name come about?

The second word of the brand – “Mara” was derived from Mr. Maramotti surname, while “Max” referred to Count Max, a local legend, who was rarely sober, but always so classy and stylish! Mr. Maramotti was one of the first to see that the future of women’s fashion lay in the mass production of designer quality clothing. He also wanted to put his Max Mara brand at the top in front of the names of individual designers, although he hired Karl Lagerfeld, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Dolce & Gabbana, Narciso Rodriguez and Anne Marie Beretta. The company is still in the hands of the family and is one of the best family fashion businesses in the world.

The Max Mara group has 35 brands in its fashion empire, of which the Max Mara brand remains the heart of the company to this day. Max Mara is my favorite brand because it absolutely meets my criteria when it comes to wardrobe, which are: quality, interesting models and cuts, good selection of materials, as well as fine processing of materials. Today I decided to show you a turtleneck sweater of this timeless Italian brand. The turtleneck sweater is made of the finest cashmere with metal details.

BURBERRY: Festive Beauty of Urban British Elegance…

My dear fashionistas, I hope you are ready for a new fashion adventure. Winter is the most interesting fashion period when we all tend to experiment a lot and play with fashion. A cashmere coat is the best investment with which you can always create a large number of outfit combinations without much thought. My story today will be dedicated to my most favorite British fashion house that you had the opportunity to see years ago on the Mr.M blog – Burberry.

All the people who have been following my blog for years know that I have a great love for Burberry trench-coats and coats, honestly I don’t even know how many of their fashion pieces I own anymore, but I know that this is my favorite trench and the color that I always like to wear – the color of honey. Soft pastel golden camel color that blends very easily with other colors.

Burberry trenchcoats and coats represent the pinnacle of world fashion and have become indispensable fashion classics today. These coats were created by the founder of the Burberry company, Thomas Burberry, more than 100 years ago, inspired by the British heritage, and at the same time introduced elements of urban fashion.

The Pimlico, a simple flat cut decorated with a single-row fastening of a minimalistic character and a modern cut. This model is usually made in navy, biscuit (biscuit color) and honey color – camel. This model is also only available in one classic length.

I would like to note that all the listed colors are only classics that are always produced, but the Burberry company introduces seasonal colors to enrich its offer.

Trends are changing, one season there are modern coats of casual cuts with puff sleeves quite long length to the ground, after two months or a year later another trend comes. My most honest advice is to buy a coat of length that suits your body constitution in proportion to your own height. Burberry trench coats exist in several lengths and I am sure you can always find the ideal coat for yourself.

Once again, is it worth investing money in a honey trench coat? If you are a fan of camel color and have a lot of things in pastel or neutral colors, then I think you know the right answer. If you feel some kind of insecurity while trying on a camel coat and reconsider your decision several times, I think it’s best to try another color. When you buy an expensive item like a Burberry coat it is something that must be accompanied by a feeling of fulfillment and security.

The trench coat or a coat are pieces that are worn over other pieces of clothing, so it is best to look at your favorite pieces of clothing and shoes before buying and judge for yourself which are the two or three colors that might come into consideration when buying a coat. Camel color is a neutral color and blends with other colors with great ease, but each of us knows our wardrobe best and you may find the ideal solution since buying a Burberry coat is a real investment.

Today, after a long time, we meet again with an interesting family brand of luxury watches and jewelry, Schroeder Joailliers. This is a story of dedication and love for one’s work that counts over 140 years of knowledge and passion. The story of Schroeder’s jewelry begins in 1860, when Lambert Schroeder left his hometown of Luxembourg to continue his apprenticeship in London and the United States of America.

Returning to Luxembourg in 1877, he opened his goldsmith’s shop in exactly the same place where today’s Maison Schroeder is located. As an extremely skilled and pioneering retailer, passionate about quality and an ambitious innovator, he inspired the core values of today’s jewelry industry.

His only son, Ferdy Schroeder, learned the engraving trade in Paris and took over the company with the difficult task of running it through two wars. His great mastery of his art earned him the prestigious title of Purveyor of the Court, which Maison Schroeder proudly carries to this day. Later, in 1979, Pierre Rossy, Lambert Schroeder’s nephew and current director, joined the company. Under his leadership, Schroeder jewelry expanded internationally by deploying agents and participating in various exhibitions on five continents.

Today, not only his wife, but also his daughters Anni and Sophie joined him in the Luxembourg jewelry house. This fifth generation maintains the family tradition, which combines traditional knowledge and creativity.

BURBERRY: The Elegance of British Iconic Trenchcoat on the Banks of the Danube…

My dear fashionistas, I hope you had a good week and are ready for a new fashion adventure. Maybe it’s still winter according to the calendar, maybe the outside temperatures are low, but in the fashion world, spring has arrived in a big way. The windows of famous fashion houses in the world’s capitals are filled with bright and cheerful colors. My story today will be dedicated to my most favorite British fashion house that you’ve had the chance to see over the years on the Mr.M blog, but today I’m showing you an exceptional piece from their latest Spring-Summer 2023 collection.

All the people who have been following my blog for years know that I have a great love for Burberry trenchcoats and coats, I honestly don’t even know how many of their pieces I own anymore, but I know that this is the first time in several years that I have encountered a suede coat again. This leather coat is an interesting piece, easy to fit, but also very sensitive and “difficult” to maintain. Suede leather is a delicate material, aesthetically very pleasing to the eye, but not practical. The only mitigating circumstance with this leather coat is the dark color, so the stains are not as visible as on light colors.

Burberry trenchcoats and coats represent the pinnacle of world fashion and have become indispensable fashion classics today. These coats were created by the founder of the Burberry company, Thomas Burberry, more than 100 years ago, inspired by the British heritage, and at the same time introduced elements of urban fashion.

You can find all classic Burberry coats in 5 basic models: Legendary Kensington, Westminster, Chelsea, Waterloo and Pimlico. All models are named after London districts. What is the difference between these models?

The Kensington – a classic model with a modern cut that easily adapts to any silhouette. The most popular model, which is available in four basic colors: gray, navy, honey color (camel) and black. Also, this model is made in two lengths. The coat you see on me today is this model.

The Westminster – a model that is extended (oversized) and lightly cut for a draped silhouette. Basic colors: honey color (camel) and dark green (khaki). Also, this model is made in two lengths.

The Chelsea – a model characterized by a slim fit (narrow form close to the body) with narrow shoulders and a cut waist. The basic colors are honey and taupe and it is also available in two lengths.

The Waterloo – A more comfortable fit, a longer model than the classic with a subtle and relaxed fit that is ideal for layering. This model is usually made in three basic colors: maroon, black and honey-camel and is available in only one length.

The Pimlico, a simple flat cut decorated with a single-row fastening of a minimalistic character and a modern cut. This model is usually made in navy, biscuit (biscuit color) and honey color – camel. This model is also only available in one classic length.

I would like to note that all the listed colors are only classics that are always produced, but the Burberry company introduces seasonal colors to enrich its offer.

Trenchcoats and coats are an investment that pays off, it is a gift for generations to come. Believe me, I know this from my own experience, because before my blogging career, I inherited my first Burberry coat from my grandfather’s wardrobe, and to this day I happily keep it and wear it on special occasions.

The leather coat that you have the opportunity to see in today’s post is special because it is made of the highest quality and finest suede leather, which is specially thinned for this model. This Kensington model in a gentle dark color is specific because it is made as a spring-summer version and the lining is made of calfskin to prevent sweating and you will have a cooling sensation during the summer, and on the other hand during the winter the calfskin keeps the heat, but it is important to be dressed in layers. Because of all this, the leather treatment had to be different and the skin of the coat’s face is significantly thinner than that of classic leather Burberry coats.

I am glad that I got this exceptional opportunity to walk on the banks of the blue Danube, this priceless piece from the new collection, for which I tried my best to convey the beauty of this gentle dark blue – taupe color to you with these pictures. Today’s setting reminded me a lot of my adventure in Helsinki when I was taking photos in the central park with the animals.

This short-sleeved T-shirt in soft taupe earth tones, a color that is perfect for all occasions and can be combined with other colors extremely easily. I think that all those who have been following my blog for years don’t remember that I used to wear bermuda-shorts, so this is a precedent that I will not forget because I don’t usually wear bermuda-shorts, but I just had to show you this model because they are the perfect length, suitable for summer walks and sightseeing tours.
