It is enough to step into its streets, breathe in the smell of freshly prepared pasta from some hidden restaurant and listen to that melodious Italian language. It was this feeling that greeted me when I arrived at Via dei Maroniti 19, home to the Master Trevi Rome<\/a><\/strong>, a four-star aparthotel that delighted me in more ways than I expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is not a classic Roman hotel with a marble lobby and porters in suits. Master Trevi Rome offers something completely different. It is a concept that combines the comfort of a private apartment with all the amenities you expect from serious hotel accommodation. As someone who has stayed in a wide variety of properties around the world, I have to say that this approach blew me away with its thoughtfulness.<\/p>\n\n\n

WHERE IS MASTER TREVI ROMA LOCATED AND WHY IS THE LOCATION SO IMPORTANT?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When I talk about location, hardly any accommodation in Rome can match this aparthotel. Master Trevi Rome<\/a><\/strong> is literally a two-minute walk from the famous Trevi Fountain. That’s not a marketing phrase, I really got from my apartment to the most famous Roman fountain in about a hundred steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the Barberini metro station is a five-minute walk away. The Spanish Steps are a ten-minute walk away, while the Pantheon and Piazza Navona are also within walking distance. Via del Corso, one of Rome’s most famous shopping streets, is practically around the corner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For passengers arriving by plane, Fiumicino Airport (Leonardo da Vinci) is about fifteen kilometers away, while Ciampino Airport is a little closer, about fifteen kilometers in the opposite direction. Both airports have regular bus and train connections to the city centre, so getting to Master Trevi Rome is easy regardless of which flight you arrive on.<\/p>\n\n\n

Before I describe my stay in detail, it is worth explaining what an aparthotel actually means. This accommodation concept is increasingly popular in Europe, and Master Trevi Rome<\/a><\/strong> is a perfect example of how it works in practice. The essence is simple, you get the space and freedom of a private apartment, but with hotel service that includes daily cleaning, reception and additional amenities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Master Trevi Rome has 27 carefully designed suites. We offer studios and apartments with one, two or three bedrooms. Each apartment comes with a fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning, high-speed wireless internet and a fifty-inch smart TV. What particularly delighted me was that this facility looks brand new, because it actually is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This concept is ideal for travelers who want more space than a classic hotel room. It’s also great for families, as multi-bedroom apartments offer much more comfort than connecting hotel rooms. I stayed in a one-room apartment and immediately upon entering I realized that it was a well-designed space. The design is minimalist with Scandinavian influences consisting of neutral colors, clean lines, natural materials and carefully selected furniture. Nothing is superfluous, and nothing essential is missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The living room has a spacious sofa, designer chairs and access to a balcony overlooking the peaceful inner courtyard. On the ceiling are designer lamps that give the space character, while on the walls are abstract art paintings in warm tones. Floor-to-ceiling windows let in plenty of natural light, making the space feel even bigger.<\/p>\n\n\n

On the wall above the bed hang two framed abstract paintings that perfectly complement the overall aesthetics of the space.<\/p>\n\n\n

The kitchen in my apartment was not just decorative. It is equipped with dark wooden elements with a black work surface, and the built-in lighting under the upper elements gives the space a warm and pleasant tone. I had at my disposal an espresso machine, a toaster, a kettle, a fridge, an oven and a hob.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was particularly impressed by the cutlery drawer, everything is neatly organized and of good quality. There are knives, spoons, forks, ladles, wine corkscrews and other accessories that allow you to really cook, not just reheat ready meals. I rarely meet this level of equipment even in much more expensive facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n

The shower cabin has a large rain shower with black fittings that provides a real spa experience. Dispensers with high-quality products for body and hair care are placed next to the shower. In the bathroom, there is also a bathrobe with an embroidered master brand logo and slippers, small details that make a big difference in the overall experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What particularly pleasantly surprised me were the heated floors in the bathroom. In the morning, when you step on the warm floor with your bare feet, you realize how much a seemingly small detail can improve the entire experience of your stay.<\/p>\n\n\n

It is equipped with designer furniture in earth tones, leather chairs, soft armchairs and a long desk for those who want to work or organize meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This space is adorned with large green plants, an elegant chandelier with round glass spheres, and subdued light that creates the atmosphere of a living room rather than a hotel lobby. There is a vase with fresh flowers on the central table, and in the background there is a space with common facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n

Cheeses, olives, artichokes, chorizo, olive oil, various spreads, crackers and nuts are available to guests, all beautifully served in glass containers and metal bowls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is also a bar with a professional coffee machine, wine glasses and bottles of Italian wine. This is not a hotel minibar with highlighted prices, here everything is included in the price of accommodation. You can have a glass of wine in the evening after a full day of walking around Rome, or an espresso in the morning before starting a new day of exploring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Breakfast is also available in the common area. The offer includes fresh croissants, various pastries, jams, honey, fresh fruit, squeezed juices and, of course, coffee. It’s not a big hotel buffet, but everything is fresh, high-quality and just enough to start the day in the right way in the heart of ancient Rome.<\/p>\n\n\n

There are LG washers and dryers in a separate room, as well as lockers for personal belongings while you wait for laundry. This is an extremely useful detail, especially if you are on a trip of several weeks or if you are arriving from another city with suitcases full of worn clothes.<\/p>\n\n\n

When I first stepped out onto the balcony of my apartment, I was greeted by the view of the inner courtyard, which seems like a small Mediterranean garden in the middle of the city. Palm trees, olive trees, bushes and colorful facades of the surrounding buildings in warm ocher and terracotta tones, all this makes you feel as if you are in a Roman palace, and not in an aparthotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The modern glass facade of the Master Trevi Rome<\/a><\/strong> with its bluish balcony railings and plant pots creates an interesting contrast with the surrounding old buildings. That combination of new and old perfectly depicts the spirit of Rome itself, a city that has always known how to connect the past and the present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The courtyard is extremely quiet, despite being in the very center of one of the most visited cities in the world. During my stay, I never had the impression that I was in a noisy tourist epicentre.<\/p>\n\n\n

Master Trevi Rome<\/a><\/strong> uses a contactless application system. At the entrance to the building, next to the golden board with the inscription “hotel master TREVI” and four stars, there is a digital keyboard. You complete the entire registration process over the phone before your arrival, and upon arrival you simply enter the code and enter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No waiting in line, no filling out forms at the front desk. For travelers arriving late at night or early in the morning, this is an invaluable advantage. At the same time, the team of employees is always available via messages if you need anything, perhaps an extra towel, a restaurant recommendation or help with organizing transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n

During my stay at Master Trevi Rome<\/a><\/strong> I made a list of the most important Roman sights. I visited each of them on foot from the aparthotel, because the location is really ideal for visiting all the most important sights of the eternal city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trevi Fountain<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The most famous fountain in the world is located literally two minutes from the Master Trevi Rome. It was built in the eighteenth century according to the project of the architect Nicola Salvia, and the central figure represents the god Ocean on a chariot pulled by sea horses. It is twenty-six meters high and almost fifty meters wide, which makes it the largest fountain in Rome. According to tradition, if you throw a coin into the fountain, you are guaranteed to return to Rome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My advice is to visit the fountain early in the morning, before eight o’clock. During the day, the crowds are huge and it will be difficult to take a photo without a crowd of people in the frame. Early morning offers a completely different experience of peace, quiet and a fountain just for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Colosseum and the Roman Forum<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Colosseum is undoubtedly the most recognizable symbol of Rome and one of the new seven wonders of the world. It was built in the first century AD and could accommodate between fifty and eighty thousand spectators. Today it is the most visited attraction in Italy, so I recommend buying tickets in advance to avoid hours of waiting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Right next to the Colosseum is the Roman Forum, the former center of political, religious and social life in ancient Rome. A walk among the remains of temples, basilicas and triumphal arches takes you back two thousand years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pantheon<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Pantheon is one of the best-preserved ancient buildings in the world. It was built by Emperor Hadrian in the second century, and its dome with an opening at the top is still the largest unreinforced concrete dome in the world. Entrance is free, but reservations are now required.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Vatican Museums hold one of the most valuable art collections in the world. The Sistine Chapel, with Michelangelo’s frescoes on the ceiling, is the crowning glory of this visit. Plan on at least three to four hours for the tour, and buy tickets in advance because the lines are extremely long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Piazza Navona<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Piazza Navona is one of the most beautiful Roman squares, famous for Bernini’s Fountain of the Four Rivers in the center. The square is surrounded by cafes and restaurants, and the atmosphere is always lively, there is no shortage of street artists, painters and musicians.<\/p>\n\n\n

Trastevere: The soul of true Rome<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you want to feel how real Romans live, cross the Tiber River and step into Trastevere. This district with its narrow cobbled streets, ivy covered facades and small family restaurants offers the most authentic Roman experience. Here you will eat the best Roman pasta carbonara, ca\u00e7o e pepe and amatricana as they should be. Trastevere is about a twenty-minute walk from Master Trevi Rome, and the walk leads through some of the most beautiful parts of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aventine Keyhole and the view through the keyhole<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Few of the tourists know about this place, and exactly such secrets make Rome special. On the Aventine Hill, in front of the door of the Knights of Malta villa, there is a keyhole through which you can see a perfectly framed view of the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica. The queue for this attraction is usually not long, and the experience is unforgettable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FOOD IN ROME, WHERE AND WHAT TO EAT NEAR THE APARTHOTEL?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Rome is a city where it’s hard to eat badly, but it’s easy to fall into tourist traps. My advice is to avoid restaurants that have colorful menus in multiple languages \u200b\u200band staff that call out to you from the street. Instead, look for bars where the Romans sit, you will recognize them by the noise, laughter and lack of free seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Be sure to try the suppl\u00ec, fried balls of risotto with mozzarella, then the stuffed zucchini flowers and of course the Roman pizza, thin and crispy. Autumn, from September to November, is also a great choice. The heat subsides, the summer tourists leave, and the city gets a warmer and calmer atmosphere. Winter in Rome is rarely harsh, temperatures rarely fall below five degrees, and the festive atmosphere gives the city a special charm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summer can be challenging due to high temperatures that often exceed thirty-five degrees. If you do travel in the summer, the air conditioning in each Master Trevi Rome<\/a><\/strong> apartment will be your best ally after a whole day spent in the sun.<\/p>\n\n\n

Rome is a city that is best explored on foot. Most of the main sights are within a fifteen to thirty minute walk of each other, and along the way you will discover hidden streets, small squares and bars that no guidebook mentions. Comfortable shoes are a must, Roman cobblestones can be merciless to your feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For longer distances, the metro is fast and reliable. Rome has three metro lines, and the Barberini station, the closest to Master Trevi Rome, is on line A which leads to the Vatican, the Spanish Steps and Termini station. A single ticket costs one and a half euros, while a day ticket costs seven euros and is valid for an unlimited number of metro, bus and tram rides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taxis in Rome have fixed prices for rides from the airport of 50 euros from Fiumicino and 30 euros from Ciampino to the city center. These prices are regulated and drivers are obliged to respect them. Transport apps also work in Rome and can be a cheaper option depending on the time of day.<\/p>\n\n\n

Check-in to the apartment is available from 3 p.m., but if you need to check-in earlier, it’s enough to inform them in advance via message. Check-out is until eleven o’clock in the morning. The facility does not have its own parking lot, which is common for accommodation in the very center of Rome. Honestly, you don’t even need a car in the center of Rome, everything is within walking distance or one or two metro stops away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pets are allowed with an extra charge of twenty euros per night, which is useful information for travelers traveling with their four-legged friend. The wireless Internet speed is over one hundred megabits per second, which is quite enough for work, video calls or content transfer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for the prices, they vary depending on the season and the type of apartment. By making a direct reservation through the official website of the master brand, you get a five percent discount compared to the prices on other accommodation reservation platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n
