Naomi Campbell closed it, and actress Brigitte Nielsen staged a playful “arrest” of the twins at the finale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shortly after that show, the brand announced the end of its long licensing deal with Staff International and is now bringing its ready-to-wear production in-house, starting with Spring\/Summer 2027. According to reports, the twins want full control over their business. As a customer, I hope that means an even sharper focus on quality and identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now let me introduce the piece that stole the show during this shoot. I first wore this watch in my\u00a0Bard\u2019s Whisper Purgatorio story<\/a><\/strong>. Bard’s Whisper<\/a><\/strong> is an independent watch studio from Taiwan. Its Chinese name roughly means “the murmur of a wandering bard”, and founder Chang Sen-Chieh takes that idea seriously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His path to watchmaking is anything but typical. He studied theater at university and then spent more than a decade as a tour guide. According to the brand, the birth of his daughter changed his priorities, because long trips kept him far from home.<\/p>\n\n\n

The company began with jewelry and accessories. In 2019, it moved into watches, and in 2020 its “Madonna” model became a Kickstarter success. The early years were hard. At one point, Chang sold his house to keep the brand alive and took over design and management himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What I admire most is how he builds his watches. Taiwan has no Swiss-style watch valley, so he created his own network of local artisans. Craftsmen in Kaohsiung’s Gushan district make the straps. Painters in Neihu, Yingge and Taipei handle the color work, while partners in Tainan take care of casting and cases. The brand says it has invested close to NT$80 million to perfect this process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The philosophy behind it is simple and touching. A bard travels the world and brings stories home, and Chang wants his watches to do the same. Each glance at the dial should give you a few seconds of calm in a busy day. Honestly, I felt that pause every time I looked at my wrist.<\/p>\n\n\n

My watch belongs to the brand’s Gothic Origin family and its Divine Comedy series. Its full name is a proper mouthful: Divine Comedy Purgatorio “ver. Opal Crystal”<\/a><\/strong>, a sterling silver and gemstone limited edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dante Alighieri wrote the Divine Comedy about seven centuries ago. The poem has 14,233 lines divided into three parts: Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso. In Purgatorio, Dante climbs a mountain with Virgil as his guide, moving slowly from darkness toward light. For a watch, I find that idea beautiful. After all, time is also a slow climb.<\/p>\n\n\n

Bard’s Whisper started the project in 2022 by studying medieval history, culture and manuscripts. Then more than twenty Taiwanese specialists joined, from scholars and sculptors to watchmakers, engineers and modelers. Together, they worked on the series for seven months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Look closely at the dial, and it reads like a Gothic rose window. Hand-cast S925 sterling silver forms the petals and arches. Inside them sits genuine precious opal, applied by hand by master painter Zhao Jia-mi. In daylight, the opal flashes green, blue and fiery red, much like stained glass when the sun moves. Around the window runs a wreath of roses finished with copper-foil gilding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The real magic is depth. Art director Jia Long-xi developed a multi-layer micro-section technique for the series. Thanks to it, a dial only about three millimeters thick shows four to five layers of relief. Some details measure just 0.3 millimeters. Illustrator Chen Yuan-zhi guided the color direction.<\/p>\n\n\n

Beautiful dials sometimes hide weak mechanics. Fortunately, that is not the case here. Inside ticks a Swiss Sellita SW200, an automatic caliber that beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour. Watchmakers around the world know this movement well, which makes future servicing easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 316L stainless steel case measures 45 millimeters across. That is larger than what I usually choose. However, the downturned lugs follow the curve of the wrist, so the watch feels more compact than the number suggests. Sapphire crystals protect both the dial and the exhibition caseback. Water resistance reaches 30 meters, which suits daily wear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The case also continues the story. Dark Gothic window motifs decorate the lugs, fine tracery runs around the bezel and a floral pattern covers the flank. You can see these details clearly in the side profile photo.<\/p>\n\n\n

Collectors will appreciate the paperwork too. Each Opal Crystal piece carries an individual number, a signed caseback and a blockchain certificate of authenticity. The set includes a hand-stitched black calf quick-release strap and a commemorative medallion. Everything arrives in a lacquered hardwood box with a leather travel pouch. The brand lists this edition at NT$108,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is one more reason to watch this studio. In 2026, Bard’s Whisper took its craft to the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Gen\u00e8ve. According to the brand, its Godzilla anniversary piece is nominated in the Artistic Crafts and Challenge categories. The studio created that watch with toy developer PeariA under an official Toho license. The GPHG will reveal its winners in Geneva on November 7, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n

Bard’s Whisper<\/a><\/strong> does something similar when it pairs medieval art with a Swiss movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Color helps as well. The gilded roses on the dial echo the mustard threads in the shirt. Meanwhile, the green flashes of opal pick up the trees behind me. Even the polished steel case repeats the silver hardware of the bag, so the accessories speak one language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then there is proportion. A busy dial needs a calm backdrop. Because the trousers are plain and the check is small, the watch has room to breathe. A loud print would have fought the dial for attention. Instead, the whole Dsquared2 outfit frames it the way a gallery wall frames a painting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My advice is simple. When you wear an artistic watch, let your clothes build the stage rather than steal the show. Keep patterns fine, colors warm and lines clean. First, the name. 1900 grows out of Manifattura Ceraolo Moroni<\/a><\/strong>, and the initials MCM read as 1900 in Roman numerals. I love a brand that hides a small puzzle in its identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The parent company has more than forty years of experience in luxury. For decades, it has created high-end packaging for some of the most prestigious watch and jewelry maisons in the world. Over time, it also developed custom leather accessories for clients. Eventually, the team wanted something of its own, and 1900 followed.<\/p>\n\n\n

Look at the octagonal ring that connects the strap to the bag, and you will see the reference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On top of that, 1900 avoids mass production and keeps volumes controlled. The brand even adds a sensory touch with a fragrance from Tonatto Profumi. It slipped into my Dsquared2 outfit as naturally as a good watch slips onto a wrist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside, a cotton lining holds a dedicated smartphone pocket, a card holder and a key hook. My phone, keys and cards found their places easily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outside, grained leather meets brushed leather accents. The grain gives texture and depth, while the smoother parts add quiet contrast. My favorite detail is the angled zip, which the brand calls a hallmark of its design language. It draws a clean diagonal line across the bag. Every relaxed summer look needs the right shoe, so I turned to an Italian icon. Renzo Rossetti founded Fratelli Rossetti<\/a><\/strong> in 1953 in Parabiago, a small town near Milan. Interestingly, the company started with technical sports shoes, a nod to his first love for sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The turning point came in 1968. That year, Renzo introduced the Brera, a loafer with “little bows” that people soon called tassels. In the 1960s, most Italian men still wore plain black or brown lace-ups. A soft, sporty loafer with tassels felt almost rebellious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The name has a story too. Brera is the artists’ district of Milan, where painters, sculptors and writers searched for new forms in the 1960s. The brand says that free spirit inspired the shoe. It also describes the Brera as a mix of materials and colors, almost like an artistic composition.<\/p>\n\n\n
