All of you who have been following my work for years know that I like to present some interesting brands with a long tradition on my blog that have left a special mark in the history of the fashion industry. Today I have the great honor and pleasure to present to you a famous Italian house with a long history and tradition that lasts more than a century! This is not a story about fashion, but about family and the strong tradition of quality Italian craftsmanship that we all know today under the famous label called “Made in Italy”.

Enrico Mandelli is a brand that opened its doors at the beginning of the 20th century. The family tradition of exquisite Italian craftsmanship of the Enrico Mandelli Milano brand is led by Mr. Andrea Maria Mandelli who is at the head of the company, but he is the fourth generation as his great grandfather Enrico started the business in the early 1900s as a leather supplier in the north of Milan.

A few years later Mr. Paolo, Enrico’s son joined his father in 1925 and spent the rest of his life expanding the business establishing connections with new world markets. Thanks to his creative and business-oriented way of thinking, he brought the company to the very top of the Italian fashion market producing women’s and men’s sports and elegant clothing, as well as fashion accessories.

Paolo’s son, who was named after his founding grandfather – Enrico, joined the family business in the early 60’s when the work of the third generation of the Mandelli family began. Thanks to him, the Enrico Mandelli company reached the highest quality of production in Italy, using the finest leathers and the best precious fibers in the world. Andrea Maria Mandelli, Enrico’s son, as a representative of the fourth generation, has been at the head of the company since 1996. With a master’s degree in business administration, he further enhanced the company by building on its legacy, the excellence for which the name Mandelli Milano is known worldwide.

The work of this fashion house developed together with its visionaries and fashion designers, so that many famous fashion designers of today participated in the construction of this incredible family fashion empire. During the 70s, the Enrico Mandelli company contributed to the expansion of Italian fashion in the world, starting to collaborate with the best Italian designers such as Walter Albini, the father of pret-a-porter. The BASILE brand was born in the 70s. The collaboration becomes very important when the brand became the first company in Italy to produce industrially made ready-to-wear for men and women.

Designer Luciano Soprani, known for his pret-a-porter collections known all over the world, decided to entrust the creation of his collection to the Enrico Mandelli company. This cooperation has been a great success for many years to mutual satisfaction.

The famous fashion maestro designer Emanuel Ungaro was an unusual and one of the most constructive experiences for the Enrico Mandelli company in a sophisticated French way. In the 1980s, Franco Moschino represented the most innovative and unusual designer. In those years, a working collaboration, but also a special friendship, was born between Rachel and Enrico Mandelli, which would last more than a decade.

The partnership between designers Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana was born in the late 80s and lasted for 15 years. The Enrico Mandelli company received a worldwide license for the production of Dolce Gabbana leather clothing. This experience has made the company grow from both an operational and a technical point of view, becoming a world leader.

As you can see the history of this amazing fashion house has been exciting, but for all those years Enrico Mandelli brand has perfected its way of making. He introduced some novelties such as the launch of the Milano model, the famous jacket model of the Mandelli brand, as well as the thinnest crocodile skin on the market with a thickness of only 0.4 millimeters! 11 years ago, in 2012 to be exact, Enrico Mandelli opened a new company headquarters in the center of Milan’s fashion industry, in the heart of Via Montenapoleone, where there are 400 square meters of perfect Italian elegance.

Allemano is an Italian company from Turin with over 150 years of experience in the production of measuring instruments such as manometers, thermometers and dynamometers. How did denim become a status symbol and how did this material become legendary throughout history?
