Letters from Morocco: One Fashion Story from Essaouira

Hi everyone, how are you today? Are you ready for a new story from Morocco? Today, I will present you the second city I visited in this beautiful country. Welcome to Essaouira! Essaouira is one interesting and lovely fishing town. Due to climatic conditions, he received a nice nickname “City of the Winds”. There is a very interesting festival that is organized every year in autumn and is dedicated to all kites lovers. This time I did not have the opportunity to feel that adrenaline, but I enjoyed the beautiful pictures shown by our guides from the Tourist Office of Essaouira.

I learned a few more interesting things about this unusual city. Did you know that this city was previously called by the Portuguese name Mogador, which in the Berber language means the Wall, because the Portuguese Mogador was strongly fortified. Just because of these walls, Essaouira has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List in Africa since 2001 year.

At the beginning of this post, I would like to thank my friends from the Moroccan National Tourist Office on this wonderful trip and the adventure I will remember!

Our trip from Marrakech to this seaside city was very interesting for me… I’ll just say “The Goat’s Trees” in the next post you will have the opportunity to see how it really looks. It’s really fascinating when you see the Atlantic Ocean suddenly after the sand and the desert. Landscape which you just want to keep for yourself and to memorise for the whole lifetime!

Saul and I were a little tired because of the trip, but it took us twenty minutes to “reset” everything and get ready for a new adventure. When I saw that morning sun, I just had to change my outfit, I knew that I would surely make new photos for a fashion outfit post.

The facades of the buildings are in blue classic coastal shades and I have met a lot of four-legged friends and a huge fish lovers – the cats. Cats enjoy great privilege in this place. The inhabitants of this city simply adore animals, and even every street seller has his own cat that makes him a company, even at high temperatures. These are the real friendships!

I successfully managed to match my outfit with the coastal spirit of this Moroccan city. As you can see, I even walked around a market that was closed because we had come too early and started with our activities. Smile is the best way to start a new day! ?

Essaouira is an unusual city, the streets are similar, and I had the feeling that I was spinning in the circle until I again used my ability to navigate in space, and with the small help of cats that made company to their owners, street vendors on the street. So, again I managed to enjoy the streets of this unusual city.

The man, which you have opportunity to see beside me was our guide for that day in Essaouira, he was born here, and he even showed us the street in which he was born and told a short story in his childhood and how it looks like growing up in Essaouira. A very interesting story, a little unusual for us from Europe, but very instructive and educational with emotions. Since that day, it was a decisive game for Argentina to represent on the World Cup, so they thought our guide was cheering for Argentina. Moroccans are otherwise very communicative and cheerful people. They always will spend a few minutes talking to you on the street (if you know French or if you find a person who knows English).

This is the street where our guide grew up, he showed me where the special rooms were where their mothers and grandmothers prepared the bread after they had no kitchen in their small apartments. They had special space where they made and baked bread, and special laundry rooms. Everybody had their own day reserved, and each family from the neighbourhood always respected that. Together in one neighborhood lived Jewish and Muslim families and their religion did not bother them to have good relations and good friendships.

After we finished with our city tour, we were able to visit the surrounding vineyards. It was very interesting and little Marko finally learned a little about wine. If the smile is going on the wrong side, please forgive me a glass of wine has fallen, and I’m not used to drink! ? I used the opportunity and take some photos of my details from this outfit in this beautiful vineyard.

I have to admit that I enjoyed and I would like to thank VAL D’ARGAN Winery for hospitality and I have learned a lot of new and useful things about wine production, which I will share with you in the next post. Believe me you will be surprised!

Istanbul: The City Where Two Continents Meet

Good morning my dear travelers! How are you today? I sincerely hope that you are good and that you are ready for a new adventure. Since you all know how much I love traveling and that this is my second biggest love in life (after fashion of course!) today you will have the opportunity to meet the city I really love – Istanbul. I’m sure that you have watched sometimes in your life some Turkish soap opera so far and that you have seen some scenes where Istanbul is presented like some heaven where you need to go and feel it!

That was me few years ago when I was watching some Turkish movie and almost every scene was in some part of Istanbul and i said to my mother: “Mom, we must go there!”. After 3 months my mother and I was on the flight to Istanbul… That was my first visit to Istanbul, ten years ago… At the beginning of this post, I would like to thank the Istanbul Convention & Visitors Bureau for hospitality and this fantastic adventure.

Istanbul is maybe not the main capital of Turkey, but has taken over time the role of the largest tourist center where people from all over the world come to get know with the city of hedonist and delights. In addition to this, Istanbul also has another great name – The City of Tulips. There are many names and each of us will always have the opportunity to give Istanbul its name depending on what this fascinating city will associate you the best. Istanbul is the only city in Europe that is located on two continents, Europe and Asia. The European part is new and modern while the Asian is traditional and where you have the opportunity to feel that old spirit of the Ottoman Empire.

Istanbul is a city that never sleeps. The European version of New York, which attracts an increasing number of tourists each year with its bright rhythm of life. Do you want something nice to eat? Istanbul is a city of kings food and delights, you can not stay hungry here, and prices are more than affordable.

Want something nice and interesting to buy? Istanbul is a city that can offer you everything your heart desires, the price range is from 1 euro to incredible luxury sky rocket prices, for everyone’s pocket and for everyone’s taste. I will only tell you that they have over 20 outlet shopping centers where you can buy really good and interesting things, and you will not spend a large amount of money. All you need is a card for transportation and a lot of time because Istanbul is a multi-million city where crowds can be very exhausting and you must be prepared to wait.

Now, let’s move on to my favorite topic – Turkish candies and delights. Baklava and other deacons are the reason why I do not have small money coins to buy a magnet for a fridge, but I spend everything on these treats. Of course, the prices of these treats vary depending on whether you are buying them in “famous” places reserved exclusively for tourists or you may go to some neighboring parallel streets and you can buy for the same value of money some kilo of those delicious delights.

Believe me, who did not try halva at night and did not pray in the late night hours on the reception desk for the knife, where the staff watches you as you’re probably planning to cut off the veins in the room, that person definitely doesn’t know the basic definition of hedonism in Istanbul. Yes, that’s my mom and I in the early morning at the reception desk when we have some strange tired eyes, but in the bag there is a packet wrapped in white glossy paper covers the main reason why we are looking for that knife. I know, it does not fit into that nutrition plan and nutrition program where you can not eat anything after 6 pm, but they never wrote that it’s forbidden if you come across a precious chocolate halva with pistachios in Istanbul.

The exact working hours of restaurants and shops in Istanbul are indefinable. On one occasion I came to Istanbul at 2 am and everything was open and the people were on the streets as if it was 8 or 9 in the evening. The second time I came about 11pm hours and the streets were so empty… You never know what you can expect in Istanbul, but you need just one thing to have on mind when you are in Istanbul. Whatever happens in Istanbul, stays in Istanbul… It will just a small secret between you and Istanbul, don’t worry Istanbul is a good friend it will hide your secret.

The real “life” in Istanbul is taking place in the small streets which you can see everywhere in the city. There you will notice the couples love who have some “serious” problems and they are arguing in Turkish, but in the end they end of story they make up as if there was nothing. The music which you hear from clubs has a some interesting pop – RnB sound with Arabic melody.

Since I’m not going to make you envy anymore with those photos of food, it’s not fair I know, but if for your consolation during this last visit to Istanbul I didn’t feel these deacons, but I just enjoyed taking photos of them. Okay, that’s it for today! Finally, I wanted to give you a warm recommendation where you can stay in Istabul if you want to spend more time in the central area of Beyoglu – Taksim Square.

Konak Hotel is located not far from the Beyoglu center area, more precisely from the famous Taksim Square. It is the square from where famous red trams go through Istiklal street, the main street. In addition, Konak Hotel is close to Nisantasi area where it is a true paradise for shoppers with a “deeper” pocket. I sincerely love to go there just to enjoy in the beauty of shops windows and to enjoy the decoration of the showcase while I share the bagel with a cat and I’m pretty happy to say, the cat is also very happy and little fat, but at the end we have each other to share that moment.

Why I love Istanbul? I love Istanbul because it is a city of diversity and because it is a city of contrast. There are differences in which you can enjoy, maybe we have different religions, but we have a lot of similarities. We have problems and similar reactions to some life situations. I love to see reactions of mothers with the children on the street who can not get right with the endless play of their children. Those interesting cute argues on Turkish language you will smile and enjoy, maybe you will learn some new words! 🙂

My dear travelers once again we have come to the end of this post, time just flies so fast when you are having a good time! Don’t worry in a couple of days I will publish a new post where we will continue together to enjoy the charms of traveling and we will continue our adventure in Salzburg. I will try to leave you now for a moment just because you maybe would like more to enjoy in the beautiful view on the last photo of the post!

How do you like this story about Istanbul? I would like to hear your opinion! If you have a question, comment, suggestion or message for me, you can write me down in the comments. Of course, as always you can contact me via mail or social media, which you can find on the CONTACT page.

As I promised we’ll see again in a couple of days, so if something new and interesting happens to me, I promise, I will write to you!

Best,

Mr.M

Hello Summer: Stripes Edition

Hi guys, how are you today? Today I decided to make you happy with a new outfit post after I got a lot of emails with the questions when I will post a new outfit post. I sincerely hope that you are spending this first day of June in a good mood and that we will cheerfully say WELCOME to June, with a smile on our face! Let’s start with post! ?

The star of today’s post is this shirt with navy-white stripes. We all know that the shirts with stripes are a MUST HAVE, whether you are a man or woman shirt with stripes is an eternal classic.

Which secret hides the striped shirt? Whether it’s the effect of “looking thinner”, an optical illusion that can sometimes mean a lot to the person who is currently wearing it. At that moment, the person possesses a surplus of self-confidence and simply feels better. Maybe the secret is in the right choice of colors? Who knows… I really don’t know, but I know that this shirt made me happy on that sunny day in Belgrade. This shirt has something special, but now I can’t find the right words to describe!

I do not know if it’s worth of repeating again how much I love the navy color, but I will repeat once again: “I love dark blue color!” The navy-white combination is always trendy, pure classic that you want to have in your wardrobe. You rarely see a man who wears a white trousers because mostly white color is not so practical. Women are more careful than men, so they can easily carry white things except for my mom who loves ice cream, so every time ordinary walking around the city ends fatal for that poor blouse or dress. I have inherited a love of white color from a father who has always tried to carry cheerful and bright colors; then he found a woman who was his soulmate; then they got two children, a daughter who just doesn’t like a white color because that color you need to think about extra care and the son who loves to sit on the fence in the white jeans and then pray to God that those jeans will be still clean…

You need to have this on your mind every day: “You are the best version of yourself and you should not change for nothing or somebody, just be yourself!”. You never know why it’s good. When I wear white, I don’t eat, I don’t drink (except for water, sometimes water is also questionable).

Hey, that’s maybe a new diet! Wear white, you do not eat anything in a few days you will lose some weight! If somebody does it by hand, please let me know if I can get some reward. You never know, in my crazy blogging life everything is possible! ?

What’s your favorite piece for this summer season? Do you have in your wardrobe some interesting striped shirts? I have a couple of them, but this is my new fav.

Guys, we have come to the end of this post, time always flies so fast when you are having a good time! Don’t worry in a couple of days I will publish a new post where you will have the opportunity to enjoy the charms of Salzburg. Sounds interesting? Believe me you will simply fall in love with this charming Austrian city of fairy tales! See you!

How do you like this combination? I would like to hear your opinion! If you have a question, comment, suggestion or message for me, you can write me down in the comments. Of course, as always you can contact me via mail or social networks, you can find on the CONTACT page.

As I promised we’ll see again in a couple of days, so if something new and interesting happens to me, I promise, I will write to you!

Best,

Mr.M

Sri Lanka: The Island Where Dreams Live…

Hello guys, I hope you’re good and this nice time helps you to get through this working week so easily. There is still a little time left to the weekend, so the countdown can start now slowly! I think this is a perfect time to start a new series of posts and to discover all the beauties of a little paradise island country. Let me introduce you to one of the  most beautiful island – Sri Lanka!

When I received a mail from Sri Lanka’s tourism board, I couldn’t have read it all because of the excitement which I felt in that moment! The only thing I read was a sentence that I repeated in my head for a few minutes until I have finally come to myself and realized that I have the chance to visit such an exotic country: “Mark, are you ready for an adventure? Sri Lanka is calling you!”.

For a moment, I thought it was some early brilliant prank for April Fools’ Day, because the start of the trip was planned on April 1st and I just didn’t give up some importance. Of course, as always I just can’t sit like that so I checked with my colleagues bloggers.  I realized that it was time for the little Marko to visit Sri Lanka! My happiness in that moment I just can’t describe with the right words, there were tears of joy, my mom wanted to go with me, and there was a real mini drama in the house for a couple of days… After few days my mother, who as you know is my photographer, she forgave that I wouldn’t take her with me on the Sri Lanka’s trip.

The days have passed, the time for the journey was getting closer and closer, and I was secretly hoping that it was not a prank and I would really go to one such trip like that…

Three days before the trip I got my flight tickets and of course again you can just imagine me how I’m running through the house and screaming with joy, because that was the sign which I was waiting for…

The first day of the April, the unusual morning crowd in the downtown of Belgrade I hardly managed to get out and with a couple minutes of delay I checked on my flight and finally I’ve started my new adventure. That day I will remember, that is for sure! I didn’t feel the tiredness of the previous trip or the cry of frightened babies. I just couldn’t have missed reading of “professional travel literature” – Guide: How to survive Sri Lanka and some old issue of Hello magazine…

Well, landing in Doha it didn’t get to be scary as I was in India recently, so I acted like a true “professional” traveler and I went straight to the boarding gate for the Colombo.

After 11 hours of reading some “interesting” literature, few naps and 2 movies, Little Marko arrived to Colombo. First Impression: “I will die, here it has almost 37 degrees outside and it’s 4 am… God what’s waiting for me all those days!” I must admit they have very interesting airport. You wouldn’t expected to find a nice house technique at the airport itself! My mom still can’t forgive me when I told her how cheap the washing machine is. She has almost a heart attack because of sadness why I didn’t buy her a new Candy washing machine… of course it’s a joke! She was very happy when she saw a new pair of earrings, like any other woman! ?

The flight from Doha to Colombo was very interesting, although it was early in the morning and there was a lot of light there, so there was no feeling of how much hours you really traveled…

Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, is a real pearl of the Indian Ocean. The next day was interesting, together with my colleagues instagrammers and youtubers  I had the opportunity to enjoy in the magic of the Colombo. Just imagine walk the coast of the Indian Ocean and the temperature 37-degree, believe me it’s a real adventure. I was pretending that I’m hero just for two hours. I must admit that walking was worth because I’ve got a nice tan. 🙂

Sigiriya… The city of kings, a city that intrigues visitors with its history. Whether you are a lover of history or art, Sigiriya is the perfect place for you. And even if you just want to see more on Sri Lanka, Sigiriya for sure will stay in your memory for a long time.

Sigiriya or “Lion Rock” as a term or word is not widely known to people, but when someone shows the image of Sigiriya everything is changing. Almost everyone knows about the existence of this geological formation that the mighty Kings of Sri Lanka have turned into a fortress. Sigiriya is often called by people an eighth world miracle. Whether or not we will leave it to someone else to decide but it is certain that this natural formation and building is one of the main reasons for traveling to Sri Lanka. I would like to take the opportunity to say big thank you to Sigiriya Hotel for hospitality and kindness.  It’s a warm recommendation from the heart! On the picture below you can see that amazing Lion Rock from the Sigiriya hotel, isn’t it just wonderful?

The “Lion Rock” is a volcanic origin. It emerged as a hardened magma of long ago active volcano, which in the course of time has gained the shape that we now have the opportunity to see. Due to its position and natural shelters, the Lion Rock was inhabited since the prehistoric times. People who lived on and around, they left their stamp by building many caves and shelters. Since the end of the 20th century Sigiriya (Lion Rock) is on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

Since Sigiriya has no epithet of a religious building, you do not have to worry about dressing. It is very important that you know that when you visit religious buildings on Sri Lanka, regardless of the temperature for men it is important that they have to wear long trousers, they are allowed to be made of linen or some other light material for summer. Women are allowed to wear skirts or trousers just below the knee.

Guys, my advice for you is to go as early as possible on an excursion, there is a possibility that you will stay out of the crowd for a long time and the temperatures can be very high. Also the information you should know before you go on a trip is that there are more than 1200 steps on the Lion Stone, so whoever plans to climb to the very top should be in very good condition. I’ve reached the top, I really don’t even know how I did it. I thought of myself as a Rambo with that famous music from the movie, but I think I looked like a fallen mountain hiker who got lucky to get to the top! I’m honest at least! 🙂

At almost all of our excursions we met a lot of pupils from elementary schools, there were even pre-school children who always greeted me with the smile and with the famous question: “Where are you from?”. Very kind and nice children, they were really cute, even they were in a better shape than me! Whatever I am proud of myself, I have managed to climb this tall rock! 🙂

The view from the top was unbelievable, but I was most delighted when we got back to our van! ? The Lion’s rock is a real challenge for alpinists and for people who just love hiking, this was a great success for me and as I’m writing this post now, I just feel the same muscle pain which I had during this adventure. The blogging crew continues their journey and the next destination was the Kaudulla National Park. It’s time for safari guys!

Safari in Kaudulla National Park is the best activity on Sri Lanka that you shouldn’t miss. This is a unique opportunity to see the wild Asian elephants in live. This is the only place in the world where you can come this close to these wonderful animals. You can see their daily activities like eating, drinking water and swimming. Believe me it’s very interesting place.

It is very exciting when you have the chance to see elephants in their natural environment and at least feel the wild life of nature for a moment. Elephants move freely, we had a chance to see their mating…

I think they wanted to have a public! I thought for a moment to watch some reality TV show! But here the main actors are animals! ?

Third day on Sri Lanka’s adventure was slowly approaching to the end, a blogger crew came back to the hotel. Some people from the crew still had more energy to spend so they made a party. But for little Marko this day was too much and he went to sleep a little… I know, sometimes I’m very boring person!

Rise and shine sunshine! New day is up, little Marko has filled the batteries, and he has also prepared the batteries of cameras, so everything is ready for the action! Or maybe not ?! Maybe I’ll just chill a little and take another nap!

Finally, it was time for the beach! The east coast on Sri Lanka was not explored so much and we were the first group of international online media, which was visited this part of Sri Lanka. That was a great honour for us and this way I would like to thank the Sri Lankan tourism board on this amazing journey.

This was a very exciting trip, very fun when you have a good company everything is different! I was in the crew with the famous youtuber! He is well known in Canada, America and the Philippines, and he has millions of subscribers because he has multiple channels on the You Tube. His name is Mikey Bustos.

He is a very positive person, even I became a fan of vlogging now (Vlog – is making the videos of daily activities that would be interesting to the audience, a lot of bloggers and youtubers are doing that).  You can see me in his vlogs. It was so fun to make videos with him and Raquel and RJ (Romeo). Raquel and I just found out on this trip that we are real soulmates, why? We both have many interesting thing in common and both of us love photography.

Mikey, Raquel and Romeo were my companion with whom I spent most of my time in Sri Lanka. I can’t wait to see them again! Maybe we will catch up on my trip to the Philippines. Beside us, there were also professional photographers from Turkey and I aslo learned a lot of useful tricks! Thanks guys! ?

The ocean, the sun, but there is no more time to rest. Our break on the beach are interrupted by our guides and they remind us that it’s time to go on tour of the Hindu temple dedicated to the God of Shiva.

This is also one of the largest Hindu temples in Sri Lanka. It is dedicated to the Shiva, a god whose role is to destroy the Universe at the end of the existence of the world. The symbol of the Shiva is a phallus, which is an indicator of the male role in fertility and birth. Shiva is also a god of good and evil at the same time. It is easy to calm him down and at the same time it is very dangerous and very easily reveals its wrath…

The temple is very interesting and on the walls of the temple you can see God Siva in various situations. It was not allowed to take the photos in the temple, but you have the opportunity to see the diversity of colors on the photo above. I hope I have shown you this beauty and the vividness that this temple has.

After visiting the temple, we had the free time to explore the area and after that we were tired, but very happy and we returned to the hotel to charge our batteries for the new day.

Guys, we have come to the end of this first post from this series of posts about my adventures from Sri Lanka. I sincerely hope that you enjoyed and I would love to hear your opinion. Have you been in Sri Lanka? Are you planning to visit this tropical paradise? We’ll see next week what Sri Lanka has to offer us and we continue this amazing adventure! ?

If you have any questions, comments, suggestion or message for me you can write me down in the comments. Of course, as you know, you can always contact me via mail or social media, and you can find it on the CONTACT page.

Best,

Mr.M

I would like to thank Sri Lanka Tourism Board for this amazing adventure, as well I would like to say big thank you to hotels: Movenpick, Sigiriya Hotel and Nilaveli Beach Hotel.

Hello, Spring!

Hello guys! I sincerely hope you are good and you are ready for the new post. Can you feel this beautiful Spring in the air? Yes? No? Well, maybe you heard all those stories of older people who always advise us to change something in our lives at least some little things, just to make for a moment our lives more interesting. My Indian adventure ended, so after Berlin I decided to go home, at least to feel that peace and to break through the nostalgia of the house with my lunch and mother’s famous dish – Meat Pie, which I always miss when I go somewhere.

Besides that I only wanted to enjoy in Belgrade for a while, I decided to take advantage of the sunny and warm weather in Serbia at the end of March. Berlin is much colder! Brrr! Finally, I can feel the sun and a photographer who was willing to take photos of me were more than enough reasons for Little Marko to move and enjoy in Belgrade.

I should ask you something. I wonder if you think the spring really came? Has anything changed since autumn in your life? Did you maybe help yourself to change something?

Today’s post may only looks like an outfit post to you, but for all those who follow my blog, knows the chit chat time has finally come. Well, let’s go back to today’s topic of the post and ask yourself one more time: “Has a spring come?”

Spring is the best season if you want to start something new in your life. Maybe it’s time to change your job or for some home decorating. People always hope that better days will come and then it’s easier for us to pass through their lives. Sometimes you just have to pack all those old stuff into the box. Maybe if we are brave enough we can easily face with the truth. Are you ready to pack your “winter box”? Are you ready to go out and try something new? I’m sure you will think differently when you just throw aways all those stuff which just capture you at one point. Believe me, it’s working!

When I got invited to participate in the new Guess campaign, I think it was one of the biggest turning points. A little different style, but that old little Marko decided to go to the side of the river Sava in late March and make pictures for the new post. In nature, man always find inspiration, so that were case with my photographer and me this time. We found it! It’s time for some new stories, some new adventures there is too much things to be discovered…

For all true fashion lovers, just know that the navy color is veryyy trendy this year (again!). I’m sure you will not make a mistake if you buy some nice piece of clothing or some good shoes or a bag in that magical color. Again, slightly shorter trousers, you know that it was almost always in fashion, because of the famous Italian style. Viva la moda! Sometimes, you just must love Italy!

I would like to hear your opinion about this combination and of course tell me how you got prepared for this new season? Remember, good thinking man, good style and fashion taste can never change!

We have come to the end of this post! I sincerely hope you enjoyed my today’s post. As you already know, for all questions, comments, suggestions or business proposals for collaboration you can contact me via social media or just visit the CONTACT ME page on the blog.

We’ll see again in a couple of days, so if something new and interesting happens to me, I promise, I will write to you!

Best,

Mr.M

Dresden: The City of Kings

Hello everyone! How are you today? I sincerely hope that you are well. In today’s post, I will try to show you all the beauties of a German city, which is better known as the “City of Kings”. Dresden is the capital of the federal province of Germany – Saxony. In Dresden there are about 500,000 inhabitants, but if we consider the wider city area and the municipality then the number is considerably higher, with about 800,000 inhabitants. The city is located in the valley of the Elbe river and thanks to this fact the town is decorated with precious bridges.

Dresden represents the main cultural, political and economic center. Because of its cultural and historical significance Dresden got its name – “Florence on Elbe”. I have to admit that this city has been quite remind me of Vienna because of its architecture.

Prior to the end of the Second World War, Dresden was bombed and most of the city was destroyed (there are various sources of information, but more than 80% of the city is destroyed). A lot of people have died, and the attack on the city is still under mysteries today and intrigues many historians. After the end of the war, the city was restored as well as many monuments of historical significance.

The city is really fascinating and easy to “recognize” from other typical German cities. When you walk around the city you simply don’t have the feeling that you are in Germany. I had the opportunity to enjoy in the beauties of the city with the little help of the Tourism Board of the City of Dresden. Thank you!

Since I came early in the city it was quite reasonable that the city was quiet, but after I realized that the city was so peaceful and really quiet, you will see people, but it’s not like Berlin or some other big city that you have feeling the “noise” of the city. I have to admit that it is perfectly suited to me, because I always wanted to get rid of the sound of the rails in the metro and to get out of big town for a while.

The city is one of the real artistic work, if you maybe get lost yourself in some street, you will be amazed by the beauty of details that decorate city and the buildings. I was “lost” for a whole weekend!

The sound of the music, street artists who by the sound of their instruments simply make you lose the notion of time and at least feel the magic of some past times… I spiced it up a little with a Reforma cake that I couldn’t eat in a pastry shop because it was not enough space for seating! Believe me I don’t regret! I thought people would think I was crazy as I ate cake in the middle of the street, but in the end it turned out that it was all right. 🙂

In the heart of the city is the Zwinger Castle. A unique building, somewhat like the Versailles castle like in Paris, but because of its large outdoor area, the castle itself was mostly used for festive occasions. The most important “star” in Dresden is located in this castle, a large golden crown that everyone is coming to take photos of that famous crown as I do and I finally realised that I have made 325 pictures of the crown itself and 700 pictures of the city… “The Crown Gate” is on the one of the entrances in the old part of town. Only the name says – Crown. The crown is one of the reasons that everyone is coming to Dresden…

At the beginning of this post I mentioned to you that Dresden was bombed at the very end of the Second World War and whether you might have wondered why Allied forces bombed the city like Dresden at the very end? Dresden has always been distinguished from all other cities, primarily because of its cultural importance, and it was also the strongest cultural centre in Germany. Residents are particularly proud of this fact and they thought Dresden was the cultural “cradle” of Germany and that it was the place where this story should start from. Because of all this, the allies decided to bomb the city at the end of the war. After all those dark times, Dresden and its inhabitants make it so easy and the city was quickly restored. The city administration today is investing in the reconstruction and maintenance of the city and monuments of historical importance.

Now let’s go over on some interesting and fun things. Many of you, on social media, wondered how much time it takes to get around Dresden… The answer to that question lies in yourself. Everything depends on your condition and how much you can chime during the day. The other thing that interests all of you is whether you want to visit the city and see some buildings and monuments or you want to see the museums how much time you need to explore city. If you want to visit a city without a museum, you could make as one day excursion (again it all depends on where you are traveling and which transportation you will use: car, bus, train or a plane). My best advice is to spend at least one night in Dresden. As in every city in Germany and in Dresden there are hotels for everyone’s budget.

“If I have enough of the time which museums I can visit?”

Dresden is a city that has a rich history and there are plenty of museums, but if you already have a little more time you can visit the Military Museum and exhibitions in the Dresden Castle. The Military museum is located on the central periphery and I advise you to use the tram while the castle is in the city centre, so you don’t need to use transportation.

Military Museum

After several years of construction and various changes to the construction project the Military Museum of the Bundeswehr finally was opened.

The museum follows the development of Germany from the early beginning of history to the present. It was an interesting exhibition of animals used in the war for centuries. It is not advisable to take the children with you because certain pictures are disturbing. The museum is very modern and interactive, if you have time I think you should pay a visit to the Bundeswehra Museum.

Das Residenzschloss – Dresden Castle

The castle is located in the heart of Dresden. There are many interesting exhibitions, with special exhibitions such as the Royal Jewellery Collections, the Golden Age and the Chamber of the Ottoman Empire history.

A special collection of the Royal jewels can’t be photographed as a visitor-tourist or as a media representative. The collection is extraordinary and it is one of the rare and largest collections of royal jewels and items of exceptional value throughout Europe.

On the second floor there are artwork that can be photographed, certain objects you can see in the pictures above. The museum itself is divided into several themed areas.

I think you should visit the castle and you can enjoy the beauty of these items of unpredictable value and find out something new. It’s always good to learn something new, every new experience and knowledge makes a man richer and better.

Especially interesting is the exhibition which is showing the Ottoman Empire history. Really fascinating exhibition, I really enjoyed! That was the most beautiful two hours spent in my life.

Dresden: Where to eat?

We went to museums, we learned something new, maybe we could eat something nice! ?

There are plenty of cool restaurants that are affordable but of course you can always choose fast food restaurants, but if you want to try real German specialties or to feel exotic Asian food in the centre of Dresden it will be better for you to visit these restaurants.

My first suggestion is the Felix restaurant, located in the centre of the city. The restaurant is a modern and urban. This is a place where you can always try the unbelievable tastes of Asian cuisine. Of course, there is a classic menu, but to enjoy in Asian cuisine and to have a stunning view from the 6th floor just to see famous crown is an unbelievable feeling. Apart from the restaurant within the complex there are apartments, so you can make your trip even better!

If you want to feel the right German cuisine, my recommendation is Sophienkeller. Prices are affordable if you consider it to be in the heart of Dresden and that the food is of excellent quality.

Where to stay in Dresden?

In Dresden there are plenty of hotels that are really affordable to everyone’s pocket, but my sincere recommendation is the Hyperion Hotel am Schloss which is located in the center of the city. By name you can find that the hotel is located near the castle, which is a great thing and allows you to easily and without using the transportation to explore Dresden.

Okay, now you know some tips what you should do in Dresden, where you can eat, where you can stay… I think we miss something… I think that activity is well known to everyone, and guess what it’s a SHOPPING. At the beginning before I write some recommendations, you should know that in Dresden are mostly multi-brand stores. To whom this type of stores is unknown, these are the stores that have more brands in their offer. So far, I had positive experiences with such stores, in some cases it happened that the things of certain brands on discounts were cheaper than discounting in the official stores of those brands. Sales in their official flagship stores are from 30% to 40%, and in multi-brand stores you can find the same or similar model at a discount of up to 70% on sale.

Since I’m a male fashion blogger, guys, I think you should visit the stores I recommend. If you can’t remember, leave it to your dear ladies…  Sometimes women know better and have better memory for these things than men, so it will be much easier to take your dear lady  for a nice shopping spree.

Recommendations:

Prüssing & Köll – If you are a fan of the classic style and timeless elegance, this is the right place for you! You need a new coat, maybe a new suit? This store really has everything you need to be elegant. Of course, this is not just a fashion paradise for men, it’s also a heaven for ladies. If you love classic trousers, my dear ladies here will surely find them and of course much much more! Address: Heinrichstraße 5. You can find this store on the MAP.

LUI Menswear – another great “fashion” address in Dresden! Are you a fan of Italian style? You follow the latest fashion trends? I think you’ll definitely like this store. Address: Neumarkt 6 – MAP.

Schneiderei und Herrenmode Küchler – This charming tailor salon has left an incredible impression on me, because my grandfather was also a tailor. He also made beautiful suits and trousers for men. Memories are a real miracle! The owner of this salon has a longstanding experience and he is willing to follow all the latest fashion trends. All the materials are exclusively purchased from Germany, and I have to admit that the suits are very affordable if you know that you will get a quality suit that is tailored to fit you perfectly. Rates range are from 150 euros to 500 euros depending on the material and the model of the suit itself. A very interesting salon, if you need a nice and quality suits just pay a visit to this tailor salon! Address: Leipziger Str. 82 – MAP.

Now I would like to write some nice recommendation for ladies too! Of course, men can find something for themselves, but the accent is on the clothes for ladies.

Silbermann Fashion – This is a true fashion paradise for all high-end fashion brands lovers. The small department store, as I called it, has everything that you need to look amazing. Like all the things in life that have that famous BUT, in this case that’s a price. You can use final sales at the moment so you can find great fashion pieces. You just need the luck to find your size, if you find it that means you are the lucky one and you will surely have the nice item which will last for several seasons.

Altmarkt Galerie Dresden – Shopping mall in the heart of Dresden. It has about 200 shops of famous street and high-end brands. In this mall, you can find brands like H&M and all the luxurious famous brands like Hugo Boss. If you have time, I think you should visit this great shopping mall and to spend some nice and quality time there.

Well, I think you learned something new today and that you’ve got plenty of practical tips how to spend time in Dresden. Dresden is a beautiful city and I think everyone will find what looks for. Whether you’ve come to enjoy art, architecture or food, Dresden is here for you to fulfill all your wishes.

My travel diary is richer for a new one experience, and I went home with a smile on my face and a suitcase full of things which I didn’t dress on because of low temperatures… But I have amazing memories for a lifetime.

I sincerely hope that you enjoyed this post and that you are ready for a new adventure, maybe it’s time to visit Dresden. I think Dresden will welcome you! It’s almost Eastern, did you make some plans for holidays?  I would like to take another opportunity to thank my friends from the Tourism Board of city of Dresden on this wonderful experience.
