My dear travellers and lovers of unusual journeys, welcome to the new series of travelogues on the Mr.M blog. June, as well as the following months, will be dedicated to one unusual continent – South America, I will show you the countries that I had the opportunity to visit and I am convinced that you will enjoy it and want to spend your vacation in one of the destinations. At the very beginning of today’s travelogue, where I will try to show you the Swissôtel Lima hotel, the place where Swiss elegance meets Peruvian soul, I would like to thank the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), local ministries of tourism, national tourism organisations, as well as other partners who selflessly supported my adventure in South America. With their help, travelogues from several countries were created, as well as numerous fashion stories that you will have the opportunity to read during this series of posts, and I sincerely hope that you will enjoy the new adventure.
Posts from Peru were created with the unselfish help of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), the Commission for Trade, Tourism and Investments of Peru(PROMPERU), the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru and the Swissotel Lima Hotel.
If by any chance you missed reading the previous travelogue from Peru or you want to remind yourself of some interesting facts about Lima, take the opportunity to visit the following LINK before continuing with today’s review of the Swissôtel Lima hotel.
When someone thinks of Lima, the first association is usually the historic centre, the picturesque Barranco or the modern Miraflores. However, there is another neighborhood that deserves equal attention – San Isidro. This urban oasis combines elegance, business spirit, cultural opulence and a peaceful atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for all those who want to experience the authentic, but more luxurious side of Lima.
San Isidro is a neighborhood that combines the business world with art, green spaces and colonial heritage. In this area you will find the most prestigious hotels, top restaurants, embassies, as well as museums and historical sites that speak of Peru’s rich culture. Although Lima is a dynamic city, San Isidro offers a sense of balance, bustling in the center but relaxed among the trees and parks. In the heart of San Ysidro is the archaeological site of Huaca Huallamarca, an adobe brick pyramid over 1,500 years old. This well-preserved Huaca was the religious and funerary center of indigenous cultures and today presents a fascinating contrast to the modern buildings that surround it.
San Isidro is known for some of the most exclusive hotels in Lima, perfect for business people as well as tourists who want a high level of comfort, and one of the best is the Swissôtel Lima hotel.
As I approach the modern glass-fronted building in Lima’s prestigious San Isidro neighborhood, I feel like I’ve stepped into a completely different dimension of Peru. For me, Lima was a city of contrasts until then: the historic centre full of colonial buildings, the bohemian Barranco, the contemporary Miraflores, but the Swissôtel Lima introduces me to a new chapter: a chapter of luxury, silence and absolute comfort.
The moment I stepped into the spacious, brightly lit lobby of the Swissôtel Lima Hotel, I felt a distinct sense of luxury. Everything exudes understated elegance, from the large plants and artwork to the perfectly decorated reception area. The staff greeted me with a smile and checked me in efficiently, with a glass of fresh passion fruit juice.
Although I have stayed in prestigious hotels around the world before, something was different here. The combination of Swiss precision and the warmth of Peruvian culture creates the feeling that you are truly a valued guest and not just another ordinary room number.
Swissôtel Lima has 345 modern rooms and suites, including:
- Executive Rooms and Business Suites: From 65 m² to 90 m², with additional privileges.
- Premier Rooms: 38 m², with garden or city view.
- Swiss Advantage Rooms: Similar in size, with additional amenities.
- Swiss Executive Rooms: 41 m², ideal for business travellers.
- Family Rooms (Kids Rooms): Adapted to families with children.
When I opened the door to my Swiss Executive Room on the 17th floor of the Swissôtel Lima Hotel, the first thing that struck me was the view. Through the huge glass surfaces there was a panoramic view of the urban landscape of San Isidro, illuminated by the lights of the city. It was the moment I realized: this will not be just a hotel stay, this will be a luxurious experience that I will remember.
Staying on the 17th floor does not only bring with it a view, it also brings with it a sense of privacy, peace and tranquility. Despite the central location of the hotel, not even the slightest noise was heard in my room. Soft carpets, sound-insulated windows and carefully designed interior create an oasis of tranquility, perfect for real rest, but also for concentrated work.
Waking up in a Swiss Executive room is a special ritual. The first ray of sunlight gently penetrates the curtains, revealing the urban splendor of San Ysidro. I didn’t need an alarm, the city woke me up, and the smells of fresh espresso from the machine in the room created by my photographer already invited me to a morning moment of silence with work on the computer and the panorama of Lima.
The room is designed to give every detail a purpose and contribute to comfort. The workspace is perfectly lit, ideal for preparing photos and texts for new blog posts. The fast Wi-Fi allowed me to share photos with all of you on social media, answer emails and all while playing soft music in the background that I played through the Bluetooth speaker. I felt that this was more than a room, this was my personal space that encourages creativity and regeneration, it made me feel like I was at home.
Perhaps the most beautiful part of the room was the bathroom: elegant, spacious with an amazing combination of marble and glass. A soft bathrobe, luxurious cosmetics and a large shower with rain effect contributed to the impression of being in my own private spa corner.
But the detail that particularly won me over during my stay at the Swissôtel Lima hotel was a special pillow menu. Being able to choose a pillow to my liking: latex, feather, memory foam, this was a sign for me that this hotel really understands what true personalised service means.
One floor below my room is the Executive Lounge, available only to Executive Room and Suite guests. Entering the lounge is like entering a private world outside the hotel – discreet, elegant and carefully organized.
At the very first step, the hostess greeted me with a smile and offered to take the table of my choice. The lounge is divided into several zones: a zone for relaxation, a zone for work and a zone for meals. Everything exudes style, neutral tones, wooden elements and ambient light provide a perfect balance of business and relaxed environment.
Although the main breakfast in the restaurant is plentiful and varied, having breakfast in the Executive Lounge has a special charm. Silence, personal attention of the staff and carefully selected offer make every bite have its own story. I enjoyed smoked salmon, homemade croissants, fresh fruit and freshly made omelettes. Orange juice squeezed on the spot and soft jazz in the background, it was simply not just breakfast for me, it was a morning enjoyment worthy of a ritual.
In the afternoon, the lounge turns into a paradise for digital nomads and business travelers. While I was preparing the texts for you new blog posts from South America, I enjoyed the offer of hot and cold drinks, fresh fruit, cookies and mini sandwiches. For me, the most beautiful moment was watching the lights of the city turn on one by one from a comfortable leather armchair, with freshly squeezed juice.
Those who want absolute silence can retire to a separate lounge area with workstations, while those who want discussion or socialising have space for informal meetings.
From 6 PM to 8 PM, the Executive Lounge offers the so-called “Evening Happy Hour”, and for me this was the most beautiful part of the day. A glass of Peruvian pisco sour, a few carefully served tapas bites and the ambiance of the golden-lit Lima landscape from the 16th floor, it’s a dinner that leaves even the most demanding tourist speechless.
Staying in an Executive room brings with it numerous additional benefits that make the difference:
- Private check-in/check-out – no waiting, no stress
- Personalised concierge service – from restaurant reservations to transfer arrangements
- Exclusive access to the lounge throughout the day
- Additional selection of pillows, bed linen, cosmetics
- Free pressing of suits/daywear
- Faster Wi-Fi with a special network for Executive guests
All these amenities are not just “luxury services”, they are proof of experience and dedicated attention, something that makes you feel special, respected and authentically cared for.
One evening, after a walk through the bohemian Barranco, I returned to the hotel tired but satisfied. Before I went back to the room, I stopped by the lounge. The staff already knew me by name. “Good evening, Mr. Tadić! Your table is ready.” I ordered an Andean herbal tea and sat by the window, watching the lights of Lima and the silence of the space.
That was my moment of absolute peace. In hotels, I often found comfort, but rarely the intimacy of a space that belongs to you, even though you share it with others.
You must be wondering if the Executive experience is worth it? If you want my short and clear answer – absolutely yes. If you’re traveling on business, if you like to have your own pace and atmosphere, or simply appreciate luxury without the fuss, Executive floors offer value that goes beyond price.
You get the feeling that a hotel is not just a place where you sleep, but a place that takes care of you in a very special way with a special treatment, whether you want to relax, work, think or simply enjoy.
My stay in the Swiss Executive Room on the 17th floor of the Swissôtel Lima Hotel was an experience that shaped me as a traveler. I learned that luxury is not in crystal glasses and silk sheets, sometimes luxury is hidden in peace and quiet, in someone asking you how you slept, remembering what coffee, tea or juice you like and giving you an atmosphere that breathes to your rhythm.
If you have the opportunity to stay at Swissôtel Lima, I advise you to take the Executive room. And don’t forget to stop by the lounge on the 16th floor, because that’s where you might experience the most beautiful part of your trip.
Now I will take you through my experience in the wellness area of the hotel, a place where body and spirit merge into one. During my stay, I had the opportunity to test every corner of the spa, enjoy the tranquility of the pool and check out what it’s like to train in one of the most modern gyms I’ve visited. This is my honest and personal view of the wellness dimension of Swissôtel Lima.
I went to the outdoor pool for the first time in a long time on the second morning. In Lima, the sun has a special color – golden, almost silky. The pool is located in a quiet, secluded area of the hotel, surrounded by greenery and high glass walls that provide privacy without feeling closed in. The water is just always the perfect temperature: not too cold, not too hot. I was surrounded by sunshine, a gentle breeze and the feeling of being in a private club on another continent.
The sunbeds are spaced, discreetly. There are also umbrellas, comfortable pillows, towels that smell of cleanliness, as well as quiet conversations with the staff who offer you freshly squeezed mango or lime juice from time to time.
The pool is not just for swimming. It is the space where I worked on the computer when it was too hot to walk, thought, even just rested. Luxury today is not noise and opulence – luxury is the right to peace and Swissôtel Lima offered it in its full form.
Although I loved spending time in the outdoor pool, it was only in the indoor pool that I found that “wellness capsule” feeling, as if I had entered a private world of silence and water. The hotel’s indoor pool is ideal for those who want more discretion or train early in the morning or late at night. Perfectly lit with ambient lights, with soft music playing in the background, this space provides what I would call a “mental reset”.
The water is crystal clear and the design of the pool is minimalist, which allows a real focus on the feeling of movement in the water. There are also two mini hydro-massage zones, which completely relaxed me after a busy day exploring Lima. In that space, everything stops. No cell phones, no talking – just water, meditative breathing and silence.
I’ll admit, I’m not a person who exercises excessively, but I try to be in some basic condition, at least when I travel, so that I can withstand the pace of media press trips, but when I entered the Fitness Center of the Swissôtel Lima Hotel, I knew that I would be exercising more than I planned.
My first impression is that the gym is huge, it looks more like an exclusive fitness club than a hotel gym. The first thing I noticed was the selection of equipment, everything is Technogym, the latest generation, with smart screens, connection to apps and personalization of training.
Whether you’re a fan of running, lifting weights, functional training or yoga routines, you’ll find everything here in perfect condition down to the smallest detail.
Next to me, there were business people working out in stylish sports gear, couples training together and even a few elderly guests doing light breathing exercises. At all times, the staff is discreet but present. They provide towels, water, help with equipment. I felt safe, motivated and physically completely refreshed.
After the pool and exercise, the spa was the highlight of my wellness day. As soon as you enter, you are embraced by the smell of eucalyptus and lavender, soft music and smiling staff who lead you to the private dressing room and then to the relaxation area.
The spa offer is diverse:
- Sauna and steam bath
- Jacuzzi with hydromassage
- Showers with aromatherapy
- A zone of silence with deckchairs and fruit water
- Luxury massages and face/body treatments
I opted for a 60-minute relaxation massage with natural oils from the Andes. The therapist was superb, he understood my pain points, breathing pace, movement pace, and made my back pain go away from carrying heavy gear in my backpack all the time. An hour passed like an instant, and I left the room with skin as soft as silk and a soul lighter by a few pounds of stress.
After the massage, I spent another half hour in the quiet zone, with hot tea and soft instrumental music. I felt like I was reborn!
After a few days spent at the Swissôtel Lima hotel, in one of the most exclusive districts of the city of San Isidro, I cannot remain indifferent. This hotel is not just a place to spend the night, it is a space of experience, a peaceful oasis in the bustling heart of Lima and most importantly – a place where every detail is treated with respect and attention. I can honestly say that Swissôtel Lima exceeded all my expectations, and therefore I highly recommend it to any serious traveler looking for luxury, comfort and an authentic experience in the capital of Peru.
The first thing I noticed upon arriving at the Swissôtel Lima was the exceptional service. The staff is not only professional, but seems genuinely interested in your comfort. From the moment I arrived until I checked out, I felt like I was part of something bigger – not a client, but a valued guest.
The front desk is fast and efficient, but that’s not what makes the difference. The difference is made by the way the staff remembers your name, how they take an interest in your plans, how they unobtrusively offer you help when they see you need it. Whether it’s a barista who remembers your coffee/juice/tea order, or a maid who leaves you a handwritten note with a chocolate bar on your pillow, these small signs of attention remain deeply etched in your memory.
The Swissôtel Lima hotel is located in San Isidro, which in my opinion is the best part of the city for anyone looking for a balance between culture, luxury, safety and affordability. Nearby are embassies, art galleries, exclusive shops, parks and office buildings. This is a part of Lima that exudes discreet luxury because there is no noise, no tourist bustle, but you simply have everything at your fingertips. Miraflores is only a 10-minute drive away, Barranco is easily accessible, and if you’re coming for business, there really isn’t a better location than this one.
As someone who has stayed in a hundred luxury hotels around the world, I can confidently say that the Swissôtel Lima hotel is at the very top. Whether you come for business, tourism, as a couple or solo – this hotel is the perfect base to get to know Lima the right way.

Dear Marko, your vivid description of Swissôtel Lima truly captures the essence of luxury blended with cultural richness. The way you detail the fusion of Swiss precision and Peruvian warmth makes me eager to experience it firsthand. The mention of the Executive Lounge and its offerings adds an enticing touch. Thank you for sharing such an immersive experience.
Reading about the hotel’s location in San Isidro and its proximity to historical sites like Huaca Huallamarca was enlightening. It’s fascinating how the hotel integrates modern luxury within a culturally rich neighborhood. Your insights make it clear that Swissôtel Lima offers more than just accommodation; it’s an experience. Looking forward to visiting someday.
Hi Marko, I love the way you describe the spa and wellness facilities, especially the indoor-outdoor pool, paints a picture of relaxation and indulgence. This post has certainly piqued my interest in staying there.

Your mention of the hotel’s proximity to exclusive stores and restaurants in San Isidro adds to its appeal. It’s convenient for guests who wish to explore the city’s upscale offerings. The balance between accessibility and tranquility seems perfect. Thanks for highlighting this aspect.
Overall, your comprehensive review offers a well-rounded view of Swissôtel Lima. From luxury amenities to cultural integration, it’s evident that the hotel excels on multiple fronts. Your personal experiences add authenticity to the narrative. Looking forward to more of your travel insights, travelogues and luxury stays.
Hello Marko, what a beautifully written review of the Swissôtel Lima. The detail about the pillow menu really stood out to me, it is exactly those thoughtful touches that separate a good hotel from an exceptional one. San Isidro sounds like the ideal base for exploring Lima without the tourist crowds.
Marko, your description of that morning ritual in the Swiss Executive Room, the espresso, the panoramic view of San Isidro from the 17th floor, the soft music through the Bluetooth speaker is so evocative. I stayed at the JW Marriott in Miraflores two years ago and loved the Pacific Ocean views, but the Swissôtel seems to offer a much quieter, more refined atmosphere in San Isidro.
Ciao Marko, bellissima recensione!
Great review Marko. I visited Lima before the pandemic and stayed at the Country Club Lima Hotel in San Isidro, which has a wonderful colonial atmosphere and an impressive art collection. However, it feels quite traditional compared to the modern elegance you describe at the Swissôtel. The 345 rooms suggest a much larger property, did it still feel intimate and personal despite the size?
Marko, the wellness section of your review really impressed me. The Technogym equipment in the fitness centre and the 60-minute Andean oil massage sound exceptional. As someone who always uses hotel gyms while travelling, I find most are underwhelming, but the Swissôtel seems to treat fitness as seriously as its accommodation. Did you notice if the gym was busy during peak morning hours?
Hello Marko, superb write-up as always. The comparison of the hotel to a place that takes care of you rather than just provides a bed is perfectly put. I have been considering the Swissôtel brand after a wonderful stay at the Swissôtel The Bosphorus in Istanbul a few years back. It is good to know the brand maintains its standards across continents. Your mention of the soundproofed windows on the 17th floor is reassuring for light sleepers like myself.
Dear Marko, I particularly enjoyed your honest perspective on the Executive Lounge experience. The idea of watching Lima’s city lights turn on one by one from a leather armchair with fresh juice is a beautiful image. I stayed at the Miraflores Park Belmond in 2019 and it was spectacular with its ocean views, but I think next time I would choose San Isidro for the peaceful atmosphere you describe.
Hallo Marko, indrukwekkende review!
Marko, excellent review of the Swissôtel. What struck me most was the staff remembering your name and coffee preferences that personal recognition transforms a hotel stay into something memorable. Your point about San Isidro being only 10 minutes from Miraflores is useful. Could you tell us more about the dining options within the hotel beyond the Executive Lounge?
Marko, what a thorough and personal hotel review! I love how you described the bathroom with the rain shower and marble finishes as your own private spa corner. The free pressing of suits for Executive guests is a brilliant touch that business travellers will especially appreciate. Your South America series is becoming one of my favourite reads on the blog.
Marko, superbe article!
Hello Marko, what a wonderful conclusion to your Lima hotel review. Your observation that luxury is sometimes hidden in quietness and personal attention rather than crystal glasses and silk sheets is beautifully put. The Swissôtel Lima sounds like a hotel that understands the modern definition of luxury. I am planning a trip to Peru next year combining Lima with Cusco and Machu Picchu, and this will certainly be my base in the capital.
