My dear fashionista, as well as fans who suddenly became fans of my fashion stories, welcome to another fashion story of Mrs. Mom on the Mr.M blog! I have to admit that I haven’t been there for a long time because we haven’t seen each other since December 2025 and I take occasional breaks, but rest assured that I really need them. You know that I have been sharing my fashion adventures with you for years with great love and passion, with a firmly rooted charm of classic elegance, but after everything that happened to me after plastic surgery, I have my ups and downs. Today’s star of this fashion story will be this amazing Fendi mink fur coat.

Some cities create stories of their own, and there are outfits that do the same. When these two worlds come together, a style story emerges that goes beyond fashion and becomes a personal stamp. I recorded just such a moment during a winter day in Berlin, a city that has always been able to balance between the avant-garde and the classic, and yet so between the rebellious and the restrained. In that contrast, I found the perfect place to photograph my outfit, which combines the Italian tradition of fur processing, French mastery in shoe design, Japanese precision in jewellery making and that special understated elegance that only comes with mature taste.

FENDI MINK COAT: ROMAN HERITAGE IN EVERY SEAM

When we think of fur in the world of high fashion, Fendi is the name that comes to mind before all others. This Roman fashion house began its story back in 1918, when Adele Casagrande opened a small workshop for leather goods and furs in the heart of the eternal city. After her wedding to Edoardo Fendi in 1925, the workshop grew into a boutique that became a favorite destination for Roman women seeking luxury. Five daughters continued the family tradition, and the real turning point came in 1965, when the young Karl Lagerfeld took over the creative leadership and transformed Fendi into a world-famous fashion house.

It is interesting that Lagerfeld is the author of the famous double F logo, which was created as an abbreviation for “Fun Furs”. That logo, as the designer claimed, was created in less than five seconds, and will be remembered forever. Before Lagerfeld’s arrival, fur was synonymous with heavy, impractical coats. He changed the rules of the game, turning fur into something contemporary, light and a playful detail on bags, cuffs and collars.

Full-length autumn outfit photo of Mrs. Mom Ružica Rose Tadić in a Fendi mink fur jacket and Fendi leather trousers, styled with a Tasaki pearl necklace with gold diamond clasp, walking on cobblestones at Potsdamer Platz Berlin with autumn foliage in the background.

My Fendi fur coat with a horizontal striped motif embodies exactly that philosophy. It is a short jacket with a perfect cut, in warm brown tones that intertwine like layers of chocolate. Mink fur is extremely soft to the touch, with a shine that takes on a special dimension under Berlin’s autumn light. The design is both sumptuous and restrained, dramatic enough to attract the eye, but never pretentious. The interior is lined with silk, and every detail reveals the hand finishing that is the trademark of the Fendi atelier in Rome.

It is worth noting that in 2015, Fendi celebrated half a century of Lagerfeld’s work for the house with a spectacular haute couture show, called “Haute Fourrure”. The show featured a million-euro sable coat, cementing Fendi’s position as the unsurpassed master of fur in the fashion world. Although Lagerfeld left this world in 2019, his spirit lives on in every Fendi piece. Today, under the creative direction of Kim Jones, the house continues to nurture this tradition, balancing respect for the archive with a fresh, contemporary approach.

FENDI LEATHER PANTS: THE PERFECTION OF ITALIAN CRAFTSMANSHIP

With the fur coat, I chose Fendi leather pants in black, the cut of which speaks the language of sophisticated femininity. What sets these pants apart from others are the vertical seams that run the length of the legs, giving them structure and ease of movement at the same time. The cut is elegantly relaxed, wide enough not to constrict, yet defined enough to follow the body line with respect for proportions.

The leather that Fendi uses for these pants has a special texture, it is soft like fabric, but retains that characteristic, almost glossy finish that quality leather possesses. They are also given a contemporary treatment, and the curved edges at the bottom of the legs bring a relaxed touch that perfectly balances the formality of the rest of the outfit. It is precisely this combination of luxurious material with unobtrusively casual details that makes the Fendi approach recognisable.

Detail shot of Fendi black leather pants with vertical seam stitching and rolled cuffs, paired with Roger Vivier black leather loafers featuring crystal-embellished chain link hardware, worn by Ružica Rose Tadić Mrs. Mom on Berlin cobblestones.

Fendi has always paid special attention to leather as a material. After all, the company started as a workshop for leather products, and that expertise has been passed down from generation to generation for more than a century. In the Fendi atelier, each piece goes through multiple stages of hand-crafting, which ensures that the end product is nothing short of flawless.

Combined with a suede fur coat, the leather pants create a visual dialogue between the two materials that are at the very heart of the Fendi identity. Fur and leather, that is the story that has been going on since the first day of the existence of this Roman house. When you wear them together, you feel that connection with a tradition that stretches back more than a century. I especially like how the tones coordinate, the dark leather of the pants accentuates the warmth of the brown shades of the fur, while the vertical seams on the pants visually elongate the silhouette and create a slimline effect that flatters every figure, especially us women in our prime.

MAX MARA CASHMERE ROLLER: QUIET LUXURY FROM REGGIO EMILIA

Beneath the Fendi fur coat, my skin enjoys the softness of a Max Mara pure cashmere turtleneck, in a beautiful dirty beige – drape color that perfectly harmonises with the tones of the fur. The Max Mara roll top model Meana is the embodiment of everything that this Italian house stands for, namely clean lines, the use of premium materials and the beauty of timeless design. Cashmere is thin but extremely warm, with that silky softness that you feel with every movement.

Max Mara was founded in 1951 in Reggio Emilia, when Achille Maramotti decided to combine the high art of tailoring with industrial production. It was a visionary move, believing that the future of fashion lies in quality ready-to-wear available to a wider range of women, he created a brand that would become synonymous with Italian style. His great-grandmother, Marina Rinaldi, ran a distinguished tailor’s atelier in the same town since 1850, which means that craftsmanship in the Maramotti family has been passed down through the generations.

OUTFIT

Fur Coat: Fendi

Pearl Necklace: TASAKI

Earrings: Vintage from personal collection

Purse: Chanel

Turtleneck Sweater: Max Mara

Leather Trousers: Fendi

Loafers: Roger Vivier

Close-up half-body shot of Mrs. Mom Ružica Rose Tadić in a Fendi mink fur jacket and Max Mara cashmere knit, with vintage pearl earrings and Tasaki baroque pearl necklace, autumn Berlin cityscape in soft focus behind her.

One of the most interesting facts about the Max Mara brand is that the company owns a library of more than six thousand books dedicated to fashion, including more than two thousand rare magazines from the early twentieth century. There is also an archive with over twenty thousand ready-made garments, six hundred original sketches and three hundred boxes of fabric samples. Such dedication to history and detail is what makes each of their pieces special.

A beige turtleneck is one of those pieces that never go out of style. She is the foundation of this outfit, always neutral, but never boring. It catches the light beautifully, and its warm tone creates a bridge between the darker fur and the leather pants. In combination with the Fendi jacket, the cashmere roll brings a dimension of softness and warmth that makes the whole visually balanced and tactilely irresistible.

Interestingly, Max Mara has collaborated with some of the biggest names in fashion design throughout its history, including Karl Lagerfeld and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. However, unlike most fashion houses, Max Mara traditionally does not reveal the names of the designers who work on the collections. That decision says a lot about the philosophy of the brand, the focus is always on the product and not on the creative director’s ego. Ian Griffiths, who has been creative director for decades, once said that Max Mara creates quality in symbiosis with reality, and that thought perfectly describes this roll, which is as beautiful as it is functional.

ROGER VIVIER LOAFERS: PARISIAN CHIC FOR EVERY WALK

For shoes, I chose something that perfectly completes this outfit, namely these Roger Vivier moccasins made of black leather with recognizable decorative details made of Swarovski crystals. These are moccasins decorated with metal and crystals in the form of interconnected links, which gives them a sophisticated but at the same time elegant and refined tone. The rounded top, leather interior and sole, and handmade in Italy make them a true example of French elegance realized through Italian craftsmanship.

Roger Vivier is a brand with an extraordinary history. It was founded in 1937 in Paris, when Roger Vivier opened his first store at 22 Rue Royale. This designer, born in 1907, studied sculpture at the Paris School of Fine Arts, and then devoted himself to the craft of shoemaking. His works have been referred to by critics as the “Fabergé of Shoes”, which speaks volumes for the level of artistry he put into each pair of shoes.

Vivier’s greatest legacy is the invention of the modern heel in 1954, which changed the silhouette of women’s fashion forever. He used a thin steel bar to create that elegant, high and thin heel that became a symbol of femininity in the fifties and sixties. In addition, he also designed the famous Belle Vivier pumps, shoes with a large chrome buckle that became an absolute hit after Catherine Deneuve wore them in the movie “Beauty of the Day” in 1967. Vivier also designed the shoes for Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in 1953.

During his lifetime, Vivier designed more than twenty different heel shapes, including the famous comma-shaped “virgule” heel. Today, the brand is led by creative director Gerardo Felloni, who has been bringing his playful and decorative energy since 2018, while preserving the spirit of the founder. My Crystal Buckle Loafers are a perfect example of that heritage, functional for a city walk on the cobblestones of Berlin, but carrying within them the same play of light and texture that made Vivier unique.

CHANEL 25 BAG: THE NEW CHANEL CLASSIC

On my shoulder I carry a large Chanel 25 bag in black, made of grained calf caviar leather with details in gold metal. This bag is the new icon of the house of Chanel, first presented at the spring-summer show for 2025, where it took the center stage of the collection dedicated to freedom of movement and casual elegance.

The name of the bag follows the tradition of naming it after the year of creation, before it there were Chanel 19 and Chanel 22. What makes Chanel 25 special is its ability to reconcile structuredness with chic relaxation. The shape is reminiscent of the hobo style, but it is far from messy. Functional side pockets, elegant chain detailing that runs along the bag and that special softness of the grained calf leather make it perfect for everyday use, without ever losing the aura of luxury.

The house of Chanel has always had a gift for creating bags that become cultural phenomena. From the classic 2.55 model designed by Coco Chanel in 1955, until today, each new bag carries the house’s historical hallmarks such as chain, stitched motifs and that recognizable combination of elegance and functionality. My black Chanel 25 in caviar leather with gold hardware perfectly complements the Fendi coat and trousers, creating an ideal bridge between Italian and French fashion traditions.

The quality of the caviar leather used for this bag is especially worth noting. Caviar leather is actually grained calfskin that is extremely resistant to scratches and everyday wear and tear, making it ideal for a bag that is worn every day. The gold metallic pieces add warmth to the whole combination and match nicely with the gold details on the Tasaki necklace and earrings. This bag is not just an accessory, it is a style statement that says that its owner understands fashion, appreciates quality and does not chase passing trends but invests in memorable pieces.

TASAKI PEARL NECKLACE: JAPANESE PRECISION IN EVERY PEARL

Around my neck I wear a Tasaki necklace of real pearls with a gold clasp, a piece that draws attention with its understated sophistication. The pearls are of unequal shapes, which speaks of their natural origin, and between them there are small golden details that give the whole a modern character. The central clasp in the form of an elongated oval with a diamond accent is just the detail that transforms the necklace from classic to extraordinary.

Elegant portrait of Ružica Rose Tadić known as Mrs. Mom on the Mr.M fashion blog, showcasing a Fendi mink jacket in warm brown tones and a Max Mara pure cashmere turtleneck in beige, paired with a Tasaki pearl necklace featuring a gold oval clasp set with diamonds.
Close-up detail of a Tasaki pearl necklace with baroque freshwater pearls, small gold bead spacers, and an elongated oval gold carabiner clasp set with pavé diamonds, worn over a Max Mara beige cashmere turtleneck by Ružica Rose Tadić Mrs. Mom.

Tasaki is a Japanese jewelry brand founded in 1954, when Shunsaku Tasaki started pearl farming in Kobe, on the coast of Osaka Bay. He specializes in Akoya pearls, which are prized worldwide for their silky luster and delicate colors. Today, Tasaki operates its own pearl farms in Japan in the Kujuukushima Archipelago in Saikai National Park and Ise-Shima National Park, as well as in the Andaman Sea. It is the only Japanese jewelry brand that owns its own pearl farms, which allows them to have full quality control from the very beginning of the process.

What particularly fascinates me about Tasaki is their pearl selection process. At the company’s headquarters in Kobe, between five and six thousand pearls are inspected and graded daily, according to six strict criteria of color, shape, size, surface, luster and nacre thickness. Professionals in this business must undergo five years of training before they can start working independently, while a full decade is required for master status. This level of dedication to the craft is simply amazing.

VINTAGE EARRINGS: WHEN JEWELRY CARRIES A PERSONAL STORY

On my ears I wear earrings with real pearls on a gold base decorated with small crystals, which have been part of my personal collection for more than fifteen years. There is something special about jewelry that accompanies you through different stages of life, it becomes more than an accessory, it becomes a part of identity. These earrings, with their warm golden tone and central pearl that catches the light perfectly, bring a personal dimension to any combination.

Pearls have always symbolized eternal elegance. Unlike diamonds, which are created in the heart of the Earth, pearls come from the sea, they are the only precious stone created by a living organism. It is this organic connection with nature that makes them particularly attractive. Wearing vintage jewelry next to contemporary pieces, like the Tasaki necklace, creates an interesting connection between past and present, between memories and new chapters of life.

Detail shot of a vintage pearl earring featuring a real pearl center framed by a spiral gold setting with crystal accents, worn by Mrs. Mom Ružica Rose Tadić alongside the Max Mara cashmere turtleneck collar, photographed in Berlin.

Gold earrings, with tiny crystals set in a shape reminiscent of a flower or a creative swirl, frame the pearl in a way that emphasizes its brilliance and perfection of form. This type of earring is timeless, I could wear it with an evening dress just as naturally as with a daytime outfit like this. Quality jewelry has the power to adapt to context without ever losing its essence. This is the reason why I believe in the philosophy of less but more value, instead of a dozen trendy modern pieces that will be forgotten in a year, it is better to have a few exceptional ones that will accompany you through life.

BERLIN AS A FASHION CITY OF CONTRASTS

The choice of Berlin as the background for this outfit is not accidental. This city has always been a crossroads of cultures, a place where East meets West, past and future. This is the city where my children live and a place that I am always happy to return to. Once the busiest crossroads in Europe, then devastated by war and division, it was finally reborn as a symbol of unification and modernization. The modern architecture of Renzo Piano and Helmut Jahn that surrounds the square provides a sophisticated urban setting for fashion photography.

Berlin is also a city that plays an increasingly important role in the world of fashion. The Berlin Fashion Weekend, which takes place right around Potsdamer Platz, attracts more and more international designers and audiences. The city is known for its unique fashion culture that values individuality and authenticity above all else. That’s why this city seemed like an ideal choice for photographing a combination that combines high fashion with personal expression.

It is not out of place to mention that Berlin also owns KaDeWe, a legendary department store founded in 1907, which with its sixty thousand square meters of sales space is the largest department store on the European continent. The Kurfürstendamm boulevard offers boutiques of world brands from Chanel to Louis Vuitton, and the Potsdamer Strasse, home to concept stores such as Andreas Murkudis, has become the epicenter of Berlin’s fashion design.

There is something special about fashion photography in this very place. Berlin is not Paris and it doesn’t try to be. It has its own character, more decisive and direct, but it is precisely this honesty that makes it the perfect frame for fashion that does not need to hide behind the scenes. Instead of fashion adapting to the city, here the city and fashion are understood as equal partners, each brings something of its own, and together they create something completely new.

THE ART OF ELEGANT LAYERED DRESSING

What makes this combination successful is the carefully considered relationship between textures, colors and proportions. The soft warmth of the cashmere plays with the lustrous smoothness of the leather, while the sumptuous fullness of the fur balances the austerity of the black trousers. The moccasins bring a touch of casualness that keeps the ensemble from feeling too formal, and the pearl necklace with gold detailing adds that special touch of shine without being aggressive.

Coloristically, everything is thought out to the last detail. The warm brown fur pairs ideally with the beige cashmere, while the black color of the trousers, bag and moccasins creates a solid foundation on which the lighter tones stand out. Gold accents on the Tasaki necklace, earrings and Chanel bag add warm accent notes that connect the top and bottom of the outfit into one perfect whole.

This approach to dressing is based on the philosophy of investment pieces. Each of these items was chosen because it transcends passing trends. The Fendi fur coat is a timeless piece worn for decades. The Max Mara cashmere roll is the foundation of a wardrobe accessory for every season. Roger Vivier moccasins are a delight to the level of a work of art in the world of footwear. And a Chanel bag, especially in the classic black variety, will one day be an heirloom that is passed down.

STYLE TIPS FOR WEARING FUR

Fur is a material that requires careful fitting into the rest of the wardrobe in order not to appear anachronistic or pretentious. The key is balance, if the top is dramatic, the bottom should be more subdued. That’s exactly why I chose leather pants that are elegant but unobtrusive, and flat moccasins instead of high heels with this gorgeous Fendi fur coat.

The modern woman wears fur with a confidence that comes from knowing the value of what she owns. This means choosing pieces that are made at the highest level of craftsmanship, from houses with a long tradition like Fendi. A shorter jacket length, like the one I’m wearing, is much easier to style than a classic long coat. It works just as well with trousers as it does with a dress or skirt, making it an extremely versatile piece.

Finally, the most important piece of advice I can give is that every piece of clothing should tell a story. We don’t just carry fabric or leather, we carry decades of craft traditions, creative visions and cultural heritage. When I put on this Fendi fur coat, I don’t just put on fur, I put on a story that begins in a Roman workshop in 1918. When I put on a Roger Vivier moccasin, I’m standing on a foundation laid by the man who designed the Queen’s coronation shoes. This awareness of the value of what we wear makes elegance sincere.

ELEGANCE THAT TRANSCEEDS TIME AND BOUNDARIES

As I walked the streets of Berlin that winter Sunday afternoon, I realized something we know intuitively but rarely say out loud. True luxury is not in logos or prices, it is hidden in a true understanding of quality, in respect for craftsmanship and in the ability to recognize beauty in every detail. This outfit, from a Fendi mink fur coat and leather pants, to a Max Mara cashmere roll, to Roger Vivier moccasins, a Chanel 25 bag and a Tasaki pearl necklace, represents exactly that, a fusion of different cultures, traditions and stories united in one vision of elegance.

Each of these brands carries a decade-long, even century-long legacy of artisanal excellence. Fendi from Rome brings the mastery of fur and leather processing that dates back to 1918. Max Mara from Reggio Emilia represents more than seven decades of Italian willingness to make fashion accessible without compromising on quality. Paris-based Roger Vivier carries the spirit of sculpture into shoemaking, with a legacy that includes designing the coronation shoes for the British Queen. Chanel, the timeless fashion house from Rue Cambon, continues to redefine what it means to be elegant in the modern world. And Tasaki from Japan, with its own pearl farms and seventy years of experience, reminds us that true beauty arises where nature and human skill meet.

My advice to everyone who loves fashion and style, invest in pieces that are timeless, choose quality over quantity and never underestimate the power of a perfectly chosen fashion combination to pull the first note of a beautiful winter day. Let each piece in your wardrobe tell a story, let it carry a decades-long tradition of craftsmanship and let it remind you that elegance is not a matter of age, but an attitude towards life and yourself.

Let this post inspire you to think about your wardrobe, not as a collection of things but as a curated gallery of pieces that speak to you, your values, your story. May it inspire you to invest in quality, appreciate craftsmanship and wear what you love with the confidence that comes from a deep understanding of value

Special note:
All photographs in today’s post have been carefully edited in accordance with the aesthetics and professional guidelines of fashion photography, as well as the expectations of the blog’s partners and readers. In a previous period, I underwent Deep Plane Face and Neck lifting procedures abroad. Unfortunately, the outcome did not meet standard medical expectations and resulted in certain aesthetic and health-related consequences. My experience and personal perspective regarding these procedures are described in more detail in a separate article, prepared in consultation with my legal advisors, which is available at the following LINK. The content shared reflects my personal experience and opinion only and is intended for informational purposes, without the intention to harm or defame any individual or institution.

Best regards,

Bonjour Rose! Hello Rose, what a stunning comeback after your break! I have been a reader of the Mrs. Mom series for quite some time now and this Berlin editorial might be my favourite yet. The way you described the Fendi heritage going all the way back to Adele Casagrande’s workshop in 1918 really puts into perspective how much history you are wearing in a single outfit. I was particularly fascinated by the detail about Karl Lagerfeld creating the double F logo in less than five seconds, what an incredible piece of fashion trivia. Read more »

Rose, I absolutely adore this post! The chocolate tones of your Fendi mink jacket against the Berlin autumn backdrop create such a warm, inviting visual story. I have a similar short fur jacket and I always struggle with what to pair it with, but your idea of combining it with leather trousers and flat loafers instead of heels is pure genius. It keeps the look luxurious but approachable at the same time. Your tip about balancing a dramatic top with a more subdued bottom is exactly the kind of practical advice I needed to hear. Rose, what a glorious winter editorial! I have to ask, how do you find the Roger Vivier loafers for walking on cobblestones? They look incredibly elegant with the crystal chain detail but I am wondering about comfort for a full day of city exploration. I absolutely love the concept of pairing them with the rolled-cuff leather trousers, it creates such a chic casual contrast. The history about Roger Vivier studying sculpture at the Paris School of Fine Arts before becoming a shoemaker explains so much about the artistic quality of the brand. I also found it fascinating that he invented… Read more »

Read more »

Read more »

Rose, your post is an absolute treasure trove of fashion knowledge! I had no idea that Max Mara has a library of over six thousand books dedicated to fashion and an archive of more than twenty thousand garments. That level of dedication to preserving fashion history is truly commendable and explains why their pieces feel so thoughtfully designed. Your beige cashmere turtleneck, the Meana model, looks incredibly luxurious and I love how you described it as the foundation of the outfit. The way it catches the light between the darker fur and leather trousers is just beautiful. I am also… Read more »

Ciao Rosa! Read more »

Dear Rose, what an exceptional post! I am particularly impressed by how you described Berlin as a city of contrasts that provides the perfect backdrop for fashion photography. The observation that Berlin does not try to be Paris but has its own direct and decisive character is so spot on. I recently visited KaDeWe and was blown away by its sixty thousand square metres of shopping space, so I completely agree with your assessment of Berlin as an increasingly important fashion city. Your outfit is a perfect reflection of that spirit, refined yet unpretentious. The Fendi mink in those warm… Read more »
