DONE Watches: A Young and Independent Exclusive Watch Brand that You will Love!

We start today’s fashion adventure with new friends of the Mr.M blog, a young and innovative independent exclusive Swiss watch brand that I’m sure you’ll love at first sight!

DONE is proof that all dreams can become reality, if you really believe in yourself and constantly work on yourself. I believe that there are a large number of watch lovers who realize and understand how difficult it really is to start your own watch brand and that it is every watchmaker’s dream to create their own watch brand one day. In the past, it was almost an impossible mission, but with the emergence of platforms where you can present your project and request financial assistance to achieve your business goals, anything is possible.

Crowdfunding platforms have taken on a very special importance during the last couple of years, especially in the watch industry. While in the past an extremely large amount of capital was required, today there is an almost endless community of watch enthusiasts from all over the world who could help you make your dreams come true. The best thing about it: if watch enthusiasts like your project, many of them are willing to financially support the project before the official start of production even begins.

That’s exactly what Mr. Thierry Clottu managed to do, when he completed an impressive Kickstarter campaign in July 2016. When he successfully raised the financial means for making watches, he set about creating his own watchmaking brand, which he had been dreaming about for years.

Mr. Clottu started making his dreams come true in 2015, when he made the first sketches for his new project. As an experienced microtechnology engineer and after more than 10 years of product development experience for many well-known luxury watch brands, he decided to finally commit to his own long-awaited dream of his own watch brand.

By the way, the name “DONE Watches” has a double meaning: on the one hand, it represents the founder’s personal challenge to create a successful watch brand himself, that is, to actually do it. On the other hand, the name alludes to the region of the brand’s birth, located in Neuchâtel, Switzerland – Done in Neuchâtel.

Mr. Clottu has already successfully established three watch collections, which are called Classic, Skeleton and Automatic. The story of this unusual Swiss brand DONE watches began in 2016, with the “MECHANICA ME1A” from the Classic series, a sporty-elegant everyday watch with a small second at 9 o’clock and a beautifully decorated hand-wound caliber.

Automatic three-handers, on the other hand, are significantly more timeless, with only a classic date window at 3 o’clock and available in 40mm (men’s) and 36mm (women’s) diameters. For those who prefer something a little more extravagant on their wrist, Clottu has developed the elegant Skeleton models, which boast an open caliber and DLC coating.

I believe many of you are wondering how a DONE watches are made? From the heart of the brand, the atelier located in Cormondreche, each DONE project usually starts from a dream, an idea for which the founder of the brand feels a passionate desire or simply from one of the suggestions of DONE watches customers. In today’s fashion story, I have the great honor and pleasure to present you the newest model of the DONE watch MECHANICA B03 in a special limited edition of 50 pieces. After the great sales success of the MECHANICA B01 and MECHANICA B02 models, the DONE brand is pleased to present the MECHANICA B03 model at this year’s Time to Watches.

The MECHANICA B03 model uses the same aesthetic codes as its predecessors, but in shades

My outfit today is adorned with two pieces of clothing from the latest Brunello Cucinelli SS24 collection, which are this beautiful colorful shirt and light jeans. The shirt is something completely new and unusual than I’m used to seeing in Brunello Cucinelli collections and I especially liked this unusual combination of colors, as well as the abstract print itself, I just wanted to have a shirt like this. Jeans are something I really love to wear and I usually have darker jeans, but when I saw these cropped jeans made from faded light denim I could picture myself in them. Today’s fashion adventure continues with old well-known friends of Mr.M blog – Fratelli Rossetti. This Italian footwear brand that I’m sure everyone recognizes for their comfortable shoes that are made from the highest quality materials Fratelli Rossetti footwear is fantastic for the reason that this brand makes classic shoes that are elegant and simply unbeatable, shoes for all time! What is the story of this brand? In the middle of the 20th century, more precisely in 1945, Mr. Renzo Rossetti started his story from scratch, where he worked alone to cut leather for several types of sports shoes. His shoes were sold at the famous Brigatti store in Milan, one of the few remaining stores of its kind in the city. After a few years, Fratelli Rossetti saw success, but, wanting to develop further, they transferred the brands and equipment for this special production to Atala Sport in Padua.

So they decided to start their story again from the beginning and decided to switch to the production of classic shoes. Those were the years between 1952 and 1957, which witnessed the orientation and acquisition of new skills in the creation of women’s ballet flats and elegant, simple men’s footwear characterized by extremely flexible and high-quality workmanship. All this led to the creation of a small collection of men’s shoes with contours that differed from the various styles sold at the time. Founded in 1889 by Jeanne Lanvin, it is the oldest French fashion house still in operation. Since 2018, it has been a subsidiary of the Lanvin Group based in Shanghai. The House of Lanvin was named after its founder Jeanne Lanvin in 1889. Lanvin was founded in 1867 and opened its first store in rue du Marche Saint Honore in 1885.

From the mid-1960s until the takeover by L’Oreal in 1996, Lanvin was led by Bernard Lanvin. The export department was in the original factory in Nanterre where all the perfumes were produced and bottled. The administrative seat was in Paris. In 1979, Lanvin bought its independence from Squibb USA and Paris organized a major PR promotional tour in the United States that same year. Midland Bank bought a stake in the company from the family in March 1989 and hired Leon Bressler to restore the firm’s faded image. However, in February 1990, Midland folded and sold Lanvin to Orcofa, a French holding company run by the Vuitton family.

Today I present to you an interesting brand from Italy that produces knitwear pieces for men. The SVEVO Parma brand is linked to the history of the Somma fashion family, which in the last century turned their production talent into a true art of producing knitwear.

The founder of the brand is Nicola Somma, a skilled knitwear merchant who arrived in 1892 in the Italian city of Bari and opened the doors of his fashion empire in the heart of the city in Via Abate Gimma street with his vision full of intuition and determination.

The origin of the name of the brand itself is inspired by the famous Norman-Swabian (Normanno Svevo in Italian) Castle of Bari.

This fashion story began in Bari, when Mr. Nicola Somma opened a chain of knitwear stores for men and women, not knowing that he started the “fashion wheel” of an Italian company that still focuses on the values of quality and authenticity.

In 1955, his son Mario Somma founded the first SVEVO knitwear factory for the production of high-quality knitwear, which was made by professional local craftsmen. Thus, from the center of Puglia, a country rich in resources and resourcefulness, threads of sophistication and excellent craftsmanship are developed, destined to weave the future of the company.

More than 60 years ago, in 1958 to be precise, Mr. Nicola, Mario’s son and the eldest son of the third generation of the Somma family, opened a new factory dedicated to women’s knitwear and as an additional production unit of the men’s knitwear collection.

The news of that endeavor at that time was reported by many media in Italy, who described the new supply chain as “classic and delicate fashion steps, where embroidery and weaving are done on old looms with new methods.” With these methods, sweaters, cardigans and other knitted pieces get shine and softness with incomparable quality and do not shrink. ”

In the early 1990s, Nicola ventured into an even more ambitious endeavor, moving to the fashion doors of Parma to write another new chapter in the production history of the Somma family.

In Fidenza, in the historic knitting factory from the 1950s, which was taken over by the Somma family, Nicola starts a new production unit SVEVO together with his son Mario and daughter Vittoria Somma.

In the last 20 years, the company has achieved exceptional results, in Italy and abroad, implementing production capacities and lending its know how technology to the largest luxury fashion houses around the world.

SVEVO‘s latest task based on the principle of developing production “challenge in challenge” is to recognize continuity and tradition as the most authentic sign of quality and comfort, continuing to progress towards the future in a significant opening to progress and fashion industrialization.

The new generation, Mario and Vittoria Somma, manage all activities, from design, production, distribution, branding and communication with partners and consumers.

This is the fourth generation of the Somma family, which preserves the SVEVO brand and passes on the brand’s heritage to the next generation.

The SVEVO brand is always in constant motion between the conception of new fashion lines and the conquest of new international markets, but the brand still relies on a centralized and direct management strategy. Mr. Mario Somma manages the affairs of the creative, commercial and marketing strategy, while Ms. Vittoria Somma directs the development of the collections and all phases of the production chain of the fashion house SVEVO Parma.

When I received the products, Mr. Mario Somma asked me to describe my first impressions and write it in one sentence, I must admit that it is very difficult to do, but I think I succeeded – “Svevo knitwear is characterized by extraordinary lightness and softness of yarn with impeccable design .”

This brand is in itself elegant and casual, I think it has a timeless art form and value.

Knitwear is a true art that is passed from generation to generation, a secret that is kept among a select few who, with their exceptional skill and intense passion, still manage to weave a new reality and spread love for finished knitted works of art among people around the world.

I used these wonderful spring days in Berlin to walk my velvet sneakers, which I was a little skeptical at first because I was afraid that velvet would fit my style. The first thing on my mind was maintenance, but as they survived a couple of unexpected rainy walks they have now become my favorite piece!

Of course, the navy blue color with these golden details easily blended in with the other pieces in today’s outfit and the velvet further emphasized the elegant note of this outfit.

Is it possible to look fashionable and elegant in loungewear?

Dear my fashionistas, welcome to the Mr.M blog. I hope you are well, that you take care of yourself and that you are counting down the days until the New Year with great expectations. For how many years I have been running the Mr.M blog so far, you have had the opportunity to see me in some more elegant editions or everyday combinations that included jeans.

I have to be honest and say that you can count the fingers of one hand how many times you saw me in a loungewear (tracksuit). Otherwise, in my free time and during the trip, I often wear tracksuits because they are the most practical and the person feels most comfortable during the trip.

Tracksuits have always found their way to our closets, they have their own fashion cult. There are people who wear tracksuits exclusively, and even to work, if they are lucky enough to have reasonable employers. Tracksuits for me represent a special type of fashion where the basic idea is to make a person feel comfortable, over time tracksuits have become elegant, so now some models can be worn on more formal occasions.

Honestly, it used to be hard for me to imagine, but when I saw some models of tracksuits, I completely changed my mind and realized that the concept of sportswear has changed over time.

In an interview, a fashion icon who is unfortunately no longer with us – Karl Lagerfeld stated that the joggers of the tracksuit is a sign that someone has given up on himself as a man and has surrendered without thinking about dignity.

In a way, the set of tracksuits has always been in fashion, many famous public figures and my fellow world influencers and bloggers wore the set of tracksuits in their relaxed releases and thus “forced” a counter to a famous designer who proved during his life that there is nothing. other than elegance.

Upon entering the store, I noticed a couple of capital fashion pieces such as classic sweaters and roll neck sweaters, it was just a matter of finding the ideal color for my skin tone. Which I must admit sometimes is quite hard! 🙂

Today I will present you the first Ron Dorff outfit that I decided on in less than 5 minutes spent in the store. I believe that everyone who reads my blog and follows me on social media, knows about my excessive love for navy blue and the even greater “obsession” that I have raised for roll neck sweaters for years.

The first fashion piece I chose was this classic navy roll neck sweater with white stripes. This sweater got me at first sight because of the perfect shade of dark blue – navy blue combined with white stripes is the perfect fashion detail that you can fit in with all seasonal winter colors.

This was followed by a real fashion battle to choose the ideal pants. Since Raphael, the guy who works for Ron Dorff, was incredibly helpful, he had a big impact on changing my original fashion ideas. The vision of the brand itself is to merge the incompatible things, so it was this time as well.

Can you imagine a fashion combination of a perfectly classic wool roll neck sweater and pants that are in the form of an elegant tracksuit with lacing? At a very first sight, my vision was different, but I realized that I was wrong and I adopted some new fashion tips. Maybe I am not fashion icon, but I always try to improve myself as much as I can! 🙂

Since we found interesting pieces of clothing: a perfect navy roll neck sweater and an interesting tracksuit with a two-row white-green stripe, the only and logical choice for this outfit were perfect and simple white sneakers.

I admit that it was an interesting experience to see myself in such an unusual fashion story where elegance is combined with “dirty” street style.

In the new autumn / winter 2020 collection, Ron Dorff found inspiration in the unique color palette of Scandinavia. The colors in the new collection signify what it looks like 24 hours in a Nordic day.

Everything begins at clear dawn with a collection of colors from the “Arctic Dawn” palette, followed at dusk with a palette from the “Arctic Dusk” collection and ends in the darkest tones of the night with colors from special palettes of the “After Dark” collection.

The new collection is dominated by pastel colors and magnificently evokes the mild colors that are common for Arctic dawns. You can also feel a certain northern freshness and of course the colors that are the symbols of Sweden are also present, such as: soft yellow, ice blue mixed with gentle earth khaki tones.

My today’s outfit is inspired by the famous Arctic Nordic Lights. In this color palette, there is a dark blue night color and green, which means the colors of nature and the forest, which, along with white details, evokes the colors of the Nordic winter and sunset.

From Picard with Love…

Hi everyone, how are you today? It’s time to do some final preparations for the weekend. Friday is a magical day, there is no person on the world, who does not like this day. Maybe some people are more looking forward expecting this day than holidays, I have to admit that I understand them… Everyone needs some time to rest, but the daily duties and everyday life do not give us much free time and maybe it’s just Friday, a symbol of freedom that we expect every week with with a smile on our face.

Since I had to get out of my “cave” (house) to pay some bills and to attend on some business meetings for potential collaborations with my blog in the future, I decided it’s maybe a perfect time to make the new photos for a new post. I called the photographer and we “occupied” the most Instagramous spotlight in Belgrade (the most famous place where people are most photographed for Instagram when they are in Belgrade) – the crossroads of Uzun Mirkova and Kralja Petra streets. This crossroads has been on the photos so many times and there are no influencers who did not make some fashionable post here. I decided to see what is so special at that crossroads, will this place help me make some new beautiful and fashionable photos for the blog.

Okay, I have to admit the location itself is very photogenic, but avoid shootings during weekdays in the middle of a city crowd. Well, it was not bad, but on the other hand, I wanted something a little different. The photographer gave me the idea that since we do not have much time for making photos we should move to a little less noisy street in the city center to make pictures for this post. I listened that advice and we started to take pictures of the Belgrade streets that make Belgrade’s heart so unique and so original.

New Year’s decorations are still on the streets, maybe the authorities are afraid that the people will “enter” in the massive epidemic of “post-holiday” depression, and they are trying to keep the decorations and lights on the streets of Belgrade as long as possible (I heard that the situation is similar in other cities in Serbia and some other countries in Balkan region) .

I decided to ignore winter temperatures, so I replaced the winter jacket with a trench and I brought a little color into my monotone beige-gray combination with a red bag. When I was at Picard, I noticed a nice red leather skins during the tour, but I did not see what a product looks like in that colour. On my question whether they made a bag or some of the leather goods in this unusual red color, they showed me the model of the backpack you saw in one of the previous posts – LINK and this business bag, which is usually intended to carry a laptop.

Since I already picked a same model of backpack in brown colour, I was a bit strange to take the same model of backpack in red, but on the other hand what would I gonna do with a business bag ?! My dilemma was solved by the girl who made me company during the tour and gave me a couple of main key reasons why I should have one business bag in my wardrobe.

For a long time, this bag was waiting for its “special occasion” to be carried, but finally it saw the light of the day when little Marko realized that it was not serious to carry folders and important papers that were uncomfortable in the backpack and that this business bag was ideal for little Marko to step into the business world. Meetings passed in the best possible order, even this red beauty got a lot of compliments, precisely because of its unusual color.

So another Friday has passed, the bag had its first official appearance on the streets of Belgrade, and Marko, after completing his duties and shooting for this post, honored himself with several hundred grams of dry biscuits in his favourite bakery and shared with his photographer. Of course, the beautiful sunny Friday is used in the best possible way – in a good mood, with smile on the face and walking the streets that make this city so special.

Is Beauty the most Important Thing in Life?

Hello, my dear ones, welcome to my first post in 2019. This is my first post this year and I have to admit that I am a little nervous and excited because I have everything on my mind right now and I hope to be able to “speak out” my thoughts and write all of them correctly. First I would take the opportunity to express my sincere apologies to you that I am writing a post today, but I did not arrive because of certain duties earlier and I was not inspired because of the cold (yes, I was sick again!).

I want to congratulate you New Year and Christmas, I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart. Christmas reminds us every year about the most important values of life: love and respect. I hope that we will all find the peace for which we are constantly searching! I hope you have spent these holidays with your family and friends, some may even have been fortunate to travel somewhere. The most important thing is that we all finally end up with a smile on the face and a filled heart with joy to enjoy in these holidays and we are ready to move on.

I did not plan at all to write a blog post today, but because of an unusual question that I received tonight on Facebook, I decided to write a post with this “interesting” topic. That question was not exactly the reason that led me to write this post, better to say that it was more a “trigger”. During these holidays, I spent a lot of time with my dear people, because of the illness of the photographer, my team was not able to realize the collaboration with one Tourism Board for the New Year’s holidays, because of all of this I decided not to go alone, and the rest of my team agreed with my decision that it is the best that we all spend holidays together in Serbia.

My friends always give me inspiration for my posts on the blog, all the texts so far were in some way directly or indirectly about some of our everyday topics, so we have touched on the theme of physical appearance for these holidays, or has everything become so superficial today? We all know how important it is to leave a good first impression, maybe we will not impress anyone at a first sight, but there is always some chance that someone will remember us for some of our unique personality…

This holiday season my best friend was my hero, why? Her boyfriend left her after 3 years of relationships with words: “Sorry, you’re just not my type!” What connected or better to say “tied” them in those three years? Obviously, it’s just an instinct to spend with a person for three years and to be left in such a way while she was stepping into the new year with thinking that after New Year’s Eve she would choose a wedding dress, she got her “dump” card on December 27th… It’s all life, but have we really become so superficial?

Did love decide to escape from the city or all those wonderful romantic movies on Hallmark channel is just a perfect lie? Of course, American love comedies and soap operas are just there to help us feel a better for hour or two afterward we return to our lives. At least, each of us is aware that perfection exists, but if you decide to spend some time, you should make a little effort to find something interesting in a person who thinks about you on the other side … You all know very well the fact about  that modern saying: “Karma is b..”, everything is at the end coming back.

That was a short story about some of disasters in love relationships, but let’s tell you something about a bit different relationships – Business. If you want to succeed in the business world, whatever you want to do in your life, you need to possess 3 the most important things: self-confidence, persistence and commitment. If you do not own it, you are ruined! It sounds a bit rough, but that is the ugly truth! This is the truth that your life teaches you, but if you change your habits on the time and change yourself, the results will be beyond any average.

As much as anyone thinks that bloggers do nothing and that everything including money and products fall from the sky especially at the moments when we, blogger want, that everything is waiting for us on the plate, and it is only for us to find the ideal white wall to take pictures of our fashion outfits… FALSE! Blogger’s work is very complex, some people who met me have changed their opinion about our profession because they saw with which problems we are facing daily. Each of us can be a blogger, you can run your blog and write about a topic or many different topics that really interact with you.

Bloggers need to know more things, besides having some talent for writing, they need to know how to edit photos, they must always improve themselves, have to learn new marketing tools, persistent to be good absolutely in everything. I started my blog by taking pictures with the help of my friends with a mobile phone, I told you about it in some post, to be honest right now I can not exactly remember in which, it does not matter now. It’s important that you know where you are going and that you do not lose your self for a pair nice shoes or some coat, this is where self-confidence, perseverance and dedication arouses to help you to get know yourself much better.

I have always been fortunate to be surrounded by people who are trying to help me in my vision to make Mr.M a something more than just a blog; it is simply an oasis of peace where everyone can relax and those few minutes that leave for themselves just to clear their minds with a cup of Coffee, if you encounter my blog, enjoy some nice and interesting topics like fashion and travel.

I mentioned FASHION and TRAVEL. These are two completely different things, but they can connect nicely. Fashion has always been a “cruel” industry. There always were high standards that were difficult to fulfill… Beauty has always been the most important thing and everything else is being suppressed. The average people have never been in fashion, but the times have changed NOW. We all see the top models look perfect on the runways and during the shootings of some fashion editorials. When you see them in live, finally you realize that they are not nothing special, that it is all makeup and a good Photoshop…

Yesterday I got an interesting question on Facebook and I shared with my friends in my own way:

Guys, I’ve just got an interesting question … 

Person: “How can you be a blogger when you’re not beautiful?”

After 30 minutes I ate all the sweets in the house, I called 15 friends to cry and to find some good answer, I also called a plastic surgeon with the desire to change my personal appearance, but I realized that I need at least 30,000 dollars that I will not earn for my 10 lives… So, my diplomatic and calm answer was:

“Beauty is in the eye of an observer, good night and pleasant dreams!”

Many people thought this message was ridiculous because I wanted to entertain people on the way I usually do, but on the other hand, I really do not care about it, because I just wanted to entertain people and to share something interesting with them. Also, there are blogger who are sensitive to such messages, so they lose self-confidence and do not know how to continue with their work. I will only tell you one thing, as an average man with average intelligence, keep in mind that you need to look at yourself and go only through life, because beauty is transient. Beauty is a feature that has value only to cold and superficial people.

It’s great when a woman or a man is good as a person and beauty is just as an additional plus to all those other qualities. According to some of my modest opinions, people who are looking at the exterior only are cold and empty and try to make up some totally unnecessary standards.

Will beauty save the world and humanity? Believe me, we are all human, but rarely is a person. Strive to be a good person and provide everyone a chance and realize that there is nothing to insult or humiliate a person. Everybody is beautiful in his own way, each of us has something special and we need to appreciate what we really have.

At the end, I would like to tell you a short story about the outfit that you had the opportunity to see today on the photos. You saw this lovely shearling leather jacket last winter on the blog, I just decided to get it out of my closet and walk this season again. This amazing turtleneck sweater I’ve got from my friends from the fashion house Turo from Finland.

I received my boots last year from my friends from Burberry, just not to think that bloggers only bring things for a couple of times, then we throw it in the garbage like it hasn’t ever existed… I do not throw anything at all, I have things I’m keeping and I am happy to carry them even today, although all those years, this boots are something special for me, they are evidence that I did something good in my blogging life to get them.

Don’t worry in a couple of days I will publish a new post where we will continue together to enjoy the charms of traveling and we will star some new adventure!
